20100000170 | Pre-Applied Waterless Adhesive On HVAC Facings With Sealable Flange - A fibrous insulation product having at least one facing material adhered thereto is provided. The facing includes a pre-applied waterless, thin-film adhesive that is thermoplastic and heat activated. Accordingly, the facing may be repaired or repositioned in the field with the use of a hot applicator. In at least one embodiment, the fibrous insulation product is a duct board formed of an insulation layer with a vapor barrier adhered to a first major surface and a fibrous web adhered to a second major surface. The vapor barrier is preferably wider than the insulation layer to form a sealing flange. The waterless, thin-film adhesive may be placed on a sealing flange and heat sealed without the use of hand applied foil tape. The waterless, thin-film adhesive reduces odor potential and improves fiberglass recovery. In addition, the waterless, thin-film adhesive requires less energy to cure than a water-based adhesive, thereby reducing cost. | 01-07-2010 |
20120006174 | ROTARY CUTTING APPARATUS AND METHOD - A rotary cutting apparatus includes a support assembly, a rotary cutter connected to the support assembly, and a slide pad connected to the rotary cutter. The rotary cutter is configured to cut low density fibrous material having an area of relatively heavier density and an area of relatively lighter density. The slide pad moves relative to and along an axial direction of the rotary cutter to compress the fibrous material to a desired compression when one of the areas of relatively heavier density and lighter density is proximate to the slide pad. As the fibrous material moves relative to the slide pad such that the other of the areas of relatively heavier density and lighter density is proximate to the slide pad, the slide pad moves along the axial direction, based on the density of the fibrous material proximate to the slide pad, to substantially maintain the desired compression of the fibrous material. | 01-12-2012 |
20130291990 | DUCT INSULATION LAMINATES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING AND INSTALLATION - A duct insulation laminate an insulation layer and a facing. The insulation layer includes an insulation layer having a first edge surface, a second edge surface that is spaced apart from the first edge surface, a first face surface that extends from the first edge surface to the second edge surface, and a second face surface that is opposed to and spaced apart from the first face surface. The second face surface extends from the first edge surface to the second edge surface. The facing is attached to the first face surface, and includes a polyester blended non-woven veil defining an outermost exterior surface of the duct insulation laminate. | 11-07-2013 |
20130295303 | DUCT LINER - A duct liner includes an insulation layer and a facing. The insulation layer having a first edge surface, a second edge surface that is spaced apart from the first edge surface, and a first and second face surfaces that extend from the first edge surface to the second edge surface. The facing is disposed on the first face surface, such that the first face surface is entirely covered by the facing. The facing is disposed on the first and second edge surfaces, such that the first and second edge surfaces are entirely covered by the facing. Two spaced apart strips of the facing are disposed on and cover a portion of the second face surface adjacent to the first and second edge surfaces, such that a portion of the second face surface between the strips is uncovered by the facing. | 11-07-2013 |

20080202879 | Radially compliant pump hub - A pump assembly for a torque converter including a shell arranged to receive a plurality of blades for the pump, a hub arranged to interface with a transmission, and a resilient member located axially between an annular portion of the shell and annular portion of the hub. In a preferred embodiment, the resilient member is an O-ring. | 08-28-2008 |
20080277222 | Torque converter with cooling fluid flow arrangement and arrangement for torque transfer to a damper - A torque converter including: a pump shell; a cover; and a backing plate for a torque converter clutch fixed by contact with the cover and the pump shell. In some aspects, the backing plate is fixed by axial pressure exerted by the cover and the pump against the backing plate. A torque converter including: a plurality of components axially disposed between a pump shell and a cover; and a pump hub fixedly secured to the pump shell. The position of the pump hub with respect to the pump shell is selected to establish respective axial distances between components in the plurality of components. A torque converter including: turbine shell; and a backing plate for a torque converter clutch, the backing plate rotationally connected to the turbine shell and forming a portion of a boundary between first and second pressure chambers. | 11-13-2008 |
20080277223 | Torque converter with cooling fluid flow arrangement and arrangement for torque transfer to a damper - A torque converter including: a membrane forming a portion of a release chamber for the clutch; a friction plate for a torque converter clutch, the plate rotationally connected to a turbine hub and disposed within the release chamber; and a damper element rotationally connected to the turbine hub and to the torque converter clutch. In lock-up mode for the converter, the plate is arranged to transmit torque to the turbine hub. The torque converter includes cooling fluid and a torus and the clutch further comprises friction material and in some aspects, during the lock-up mode, the release chamber is sealed except for a flow of the cooling fluid from the release chamber through the friction material to the torus. The plate includes oppositely disposed first and second radial surfaces and during a torque converter mode for the torque converter, respective pressures on the first and second surfaces are substantially equal. | 11-13-2008 |
