20080213753METHOD FOR THE VERIFICATION OF THE REMOVAL OF VIRUSES TO VALIDATE FILTERS AND FILTERING PROCESSES - Disclosed is a method for verification of the removal of viruses to validate filters, filtering processes, physical and chemical inactivation processes, or adsorptive removal processes in predefined process conditions that are simulated on a small scale. According to said method, viruses are cultured in suitable cell lines in a first step, a virus suspension is obtained after solubilizing cells in a second step, the virus suspension obtained is added in a third step to a protein solution that is to be analyzed, and the virus-containing protein solution is filtered through the filter that is to be validated, and the removal of viruses is then analyzed in a fourth step. The virus suspension is first processed via a membrane adsorber following step two, the viruses being bonded to the membrane adsorber and contaminants being removed with the aid of a detergent buffer solution, while the bonded, purified viruses are eluted from the membrane adsorber area and are added to the protein solution that is to be analyzed as a concentrated virus suspension in step three.09-04-2008

20090263848Method for Determining the Viability of Cells in Cell Cultures - The invention relates to a method for determining the viability of cells in cell cultures, said method comprising the steps of: colouring the sample with a dye which can penetrate into individual cells depending on the viability of the latter, determining the proportions of cells which are coloured to differing extents. The invention is distinguished by virtue of the fact that a cell suspension of the coloured cells is centrifuged as a sample in a sample vessel (10-22-2009

The filter cartridge is connected, in a form-fitting and fluid-tight manner, to its adjacent end plates in a circumferential subarea of contact surfaces thereof using an adhesive.03-25-2010
20100170400Waste gas system for bioreactors - The invention relates to a waste gas system for bioreactors having a hydrophobic sterile filter, arranged at the end, and a heat exchanger which protects the sterile filter against blocking by liquid media. The gas outflow duct for discharging waste gas from a bioreactor vessel is divided in a cooling zone of the heat exchanger into a multiplicity of subducts and is extended in a heating zone of the heat exchanger to a calming zone. Due to the multiplicity of subducts, a considerably larger surface area for the removal of heat from the waste gas is available, with the result that in the case of laminar flow of the waste gas through the subducts a high effectiveness of the separation of liquids from the waste gas can be achieved. In the heating zone, the waste gas can heat up again due to the reduced flow rate until it reaches the hydrophobic sterile filter by way of taking up heat from the surroundings to a such a degree that the relative vapor contents are below 100% and separation of liquids from residual vapors at or in the hydrophobic sterile filter is precluded.07-08-2010
20110014075HOSE SYSTEM - A hose system has a pump hose with a hose portion insertable into a pump head of a hose pump. The hose portion has at least a first stop element fixing the hose portion in the feed direction. The first stop element can subsequently be connected immovably to the pump hose at a predefinable position of the pump hose. Thus, the pump hose can be used more universally and can be adapted to different pump heads.01-20-2011
