20100177778DISTRIBUTED CONNECTION-ORIENTED SERVICES FOR SWITCHED COMMUNICATION NETWORKS - Method and apparatus providing connection-oriented services for packet switched data communications networks. Directory services include distributed discovery of MAC addresses and protocol alias addresses. Topology services include a link state topology exchange among switches, which provides each switch with a complete topology graph of the network. This enables an access switch receiving a data packet to determine a complete path from a source end system to a destination end system. Another service includes resolution of broadcast frames to unicast frames, in order to reduce the amount of broadcast traffic. Policy restrictions may be applied prior to connection setup. Path determination services enable multiple paths from a source to a destination. Connection management includes source routed mapping of connections on the desired path. A distributed call rerouting service is provided wherein if a link on an active path fails, each switch receives a topology change notification and unmaps any connection involving the failed link. A broadcast/unknown service provides restricted flooding of nonresolvable packets. Furthermore, connection-oriented switching is provided based on the source and destination MAC addresses as a connection identifier. Still further, resolution of networks outside the switch domain is enabled by access switches listening for network and server route advertisements and maintaining best routes to said networks and servers. The best route metrics may be combined with best path metrics to determine a path from a first access switch to an egress switch connected to the external network.07-15-2010

The propulsion units are vertical for vertical flight, and horizontal for forward flight. The aircraft wings are placed such that the rear wing is above the middle wing which is placed above the front wing. The placement of each of the propulsion units relative to the center of gravity of the aircraft about the vertical axis inherently assures continued stability in vertical flight mode, following the loss of thrust from any one propulsion unit. The placement of the propulsion units, viewing the aircraft from the front, is such that each propulsion units' thrust wake does not materially disturb the propulsion unit to its rear. When engine driven propellers or rotors are utilized, flapped wing panels are attached outboard of the forward and/or rearward propulsion units to provide yaw control during vertical flight.07-14-2011

A vertical stabilizer may or may not be employed. If no vertical stabilizer is employed, yaw control during horizontal flight may be achieved through differential thrust using the at least six propulsion units. Yaw control during vertical flight may be provided by a plurality of yaw control panels. For example, a multi-sensor mediator may collect the input data from multiple sensors, and generate a composite signal that encodes the combined data from the different sensors. 20080223047Xplogen TM: a system, method, and apparatus for generating energy from a series of dissociation reactions - Methods, systems, and apparatus for generating energy from a process-contained series of thermobaric reactions and/or explosion cycles are provided. The Xplogen™ energy generating system includes several embodiments for stimulating the heat and pressure release episodes, which are directed by the process system toward the task of dissociating a target substance being subjected to the hyper-stimulated pulse of energy. The target substance is thermolyzed by the pulse energy episode and the resulting dissociated gases are either quenched and captured or they are consumed in a direct thermal conversion process and are thus translated into steam pressure, and/or torque, thrust, motive force, and/or super-heat impulses. The methods and systems of the present invention include a comprehensive arrangement of process configurations and components as well as a means of operation.09-18-2008
20090107111Implo-Dynamics.TM.: a system, method, and apparatus for reducing airborne pollutant emissions and/or recovering energy - Methods, systems, and apparatus for reducing or eliminating airborne pollutants and generating a measure of usable energy from the same are provided. The Implo-Dynamics™ Treatment System includes several embodiments for mixing steam and emissions and injecting said mixture into a process fluid transmission network. The vacuum induced flow of the Working Fluid provides a means of propelling a Hydro Turbine unit for energy recovery purposes. The process includes reactant injection, gas transfer, filtration, remediation of pollutants, and delivers a novel means for carbon dioxide capture and sequestration. Furthermore, the detoxified process by-product solids represent a beneficial reutilization and/or recycling resource. The methods and systems of the present invention include a comprehensive arrangement of process configurations and components as well as a means of operation.04-30-2009

20090172047Method and Apparatus for Loading Data Files into a Data-Warehouse System - Date-warehouse systems are populated using an enhanced Extraction-Load-Transform (ETL) process and system by employing three ideas: Out-of-order-fill ETL, relative-ordering index (ROI), and dependent queries. Out-of-order-fill ETL allows a data warehouse to accept the loading of data files in any order, and does not require the loading of any previous backup data files in order to provide some functionality to end users under the view that some functionality or data access is better than none at all. Dependent queries are processes that use defined data structures for use in constructing, extracting, and validating each record to be written in said data-warehouse system in order to ensure that referential integrity is maintained and that no orphaned data is pushed into the data warehouse. Finally, ROI is a process wherein a value is determined, based on the constraints of the source data, which indicates the relative newness of the data.07-02-2009
20090177647Method and Apparatus for Conducting Data Queries Using Consolidation Strings and Inter-Node Consolidation - Query inefficiencies are improved and entity-interrelational blindness is overcome by employing two ideas: Consolidation Strings and Inter-Node Consolidation. These ideas can be typically employed in law-enforcement records systems (such as COPLINK systems), but is certainly not limited to such an application. Consolidation Strings represent key pieces of information that are in a text/character format, and may be encrypted/hashed. A system's hierarchy of consolidation rules automatically determine if two different rows in a database actually refer to the same real-world object. These rules are NOT statistical or probabilistic in nature, thus enhancing the confidence and reliability in the results. Three general classifications of Consolidation Strings are encompassed: Those based on positive identifiers, those based on demographic information, and those based on associative information that spans multiple-entity types. Inter-Node Consolidation provides a means to facilitate the communication of updated consolidation information between data-source nodes in order to leverage the advantages of Consolidation Strings.07-09-2009
20100030750Methods and Apparatus for Performing Multi-Data-Source, Non-ETL Queries and Entity Resolution - The application discloses a new system for performing queries and entity resolution on two or more data sources without having to ETL all the documents, entities, and descriptions of entities. Also disclosed, is a method to perform advanced entity resolution without divulging personally sensitive information to end-users and intermediate systems.02-04-2010
