20090165667 | Apparatus and method for electromagnetic levitation on an uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface - Methods and systems for levitation on uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface are disclosed. The system comprises a stack of conducting power plates, a high frequency high voltage (HFHV) source, a force feedback step-up transformer (FFST) and an uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface. The secondary coils of the FFST charge a stack of conducting power plates. The charged conducting power plates switch its polarity in a controlled manner. Due to kinetic inertia of the effective dipole moment of the uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface, the dipole moment cannot maintain the changes in response to the changes in polarity of the stack of conducting power plates and thus, a repulsive force is generated between the stack of conductive power plates and the non-magnetized arbitrary surface. The controlled repulsive force initiates and maintains the desired level of levitation with respect to the uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface. | 07-02-2009 |
20110061560 | Apparatus and method for using electric fields to cause levitation on an uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface - Methods and systems for levitation on uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface are disclosed. The levitation system generates electric fields in order to cause dielectric polarization on the surface on which levitation is to be caused. Methods and systems are disclosed in which the polarity of the electric field that is produced by the system is switched in a controlled manner. Due to kinetic inertia of the effective dipole moment of the uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface, the dipole moment cannot maintain the changes in response to the changes in polarity of the electric field that is produced by the levitation system and thus, a repulsive force is generated between the levitation system and the non-magnetized arbitrary surface. The controlled repulsive force initiates and maintains the desired level of levitation with respect to the uncharged and non-magnetized arbitrary surface. Additionally the source of electric fields is made to have a large area in order to increase the repulsive force on the levitation system. | 03-17-2011 |

20120090082 | Sanitary Lifting Device for a Toilet Seat or Seat Cover - An apparatus for use on a toilet that allows a user to move an element of the toilet without having to touch the element. The apparatus has a member with two ends, and a means to attach one end of the member to the toilet element such that pulling on the other end moves the toilet element. The member can be attached to the toilet element using a suction cup, an adhesive means, or a magnet. The elements which may be moved by using the apparatus include the toilet lid, toilet seat, and toilet tank lid. The apparatus may have a handle attached to the end where pulling force is applied, which can be constructed in a ring or a tubular shape. The apparatus can be constructed of materials making it inexpensive and portable or disposable. The apparatus can be threaded through a pulley structure, redirecting the force required to move the toilet element, making it easier to use. | 04-19-2012 |

20150370964 | Computer Aided Drug Resistance Calculator Calculating Drug Resistance Using Amprenavir As A Case Study - Signal Processing-based Computer-Aided Drug Resistance Calculator (CARDC) has been proposed [14]. The result of the drug resistances obtained then demonstrated very small margin. It was noted that more than one amino acids parameter is engaged in one mutation. It became necessary to further apply CARDC on studies which have information on both mutations in the target protein and the amino acids parameters involved. Amprenavir, an anti-HIV/AIDS that has been approved by FDA has been studied and information regarding mutations and amino acids parameters are available [12]. CARDC is therefore applied on these mutations and amino acids parameters presented. | 12-24-2015 |

20160059809 | ENERGY ABSORBING DEVICE FOR BUMPER ASSEMBLY - An energy absorbing device for a bumper assembly of a vehicle includes a plunger. A deformable wall extends along an axis and defines a cavity for receiving the plunger during relative movement between the plunger and the deformable wall resulting from impact between the bumper assembly and another object. A ledge is fixed to the deformable wall and extends between the cavity and the plunger for collapsing the deformable wall into the cavity. The deformable wall collapses inwardly to eliminate material stack up to accommodate packaging restraints in the design of the bumper assembly. | 03-03-2016 |
