20100081880Surgical Access Device - Various devices are provided for allowing multiple surgical instruments to be inserted through a single surgical access device at variable angles of insertion, allowing for ease of manipulation within a patient's body while maintaining insufflation. Safety shields and release mechanisms are also provided for use with various surgical access devices.04-01-2010
20110015631ELECTROSURGERY GENERATOR FOR ULTRASONIC SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS - In one general aspect, various embodiments are directed to a surgical instrument that can supply mechanical energy and electrical energy to an end effector of the surgical instrument. The surgical instrument may be operated in a first operating mode in which a transducer of the surgical instrument produces mechanical energy, or vibrations, that are transmitted to the end effector and a second operating mode in which electrical energy, or current, can flow through the end effector to perform electrosurgery. In another general aspect, the surgical instrument may comprise a clamp, or jaw, which can be moved into a closed position to hold tissue against a waveguide, or blade, of the end effector. In the second operating mode of the surgical instrument, current can flow from a power source, through the waveguide, and return to the power source through a path comprising the jaw.01-20-2011
20110015660ROTATING TRANSDUCER MOUNT FOR ULTRASONIC SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS - In one general aspect, various embodiments are directed to an ultrasonic surgical instrument that comprises a handpiece housing that operably supports an electrical contact assembly therein that is in electrical communication with a signal source. An acoustic assembly is supported within the handpiece housing in rotatable contact with the electrical contact assembly. In various embodiments, the signal source produces at least one of an ultrasonic signal and a radio frequency signal.01-20-2011

20090077653Graphical Image Authentication And Security System - A method and system for protection of and secure access to a computer system or computer network from a portable device. The method includes the steps of receiving a first login account identifier, such as a user name from a user in communication with the computer system or network. A determination is made if the user is recognized and enrolled from the first login account identifier. If the user is recognized, a series of randomly generated visual images is displayed including one visual image from an image category which has been pre-selected by the user upon enrollment. An image category identifier is randomly assigned to each visual image in the series. An image category identifier is entered and received. If the login account identifier and the image category are validated, access is permitted to the computer system or network from the portable device.03-19-2009

20080244700METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR GRAPHICAL IMAGE AUTHENTICATION - Systems and methods for providing authentication using an arrangement of dynamic graphical images, which may display a popup element while a pointing device indicator is over a graphical image. The graphical images can be arranged as a grid or matrix for presentation on a device display for authentication of a user. The kinds of graphical images can be derived from a designated authentication category and non-authenticating categories. A series of password elements corresponding to the graphical images can be displayed with the graphical images. The user may enter the series of one or more password elements corresponding to graphical images from the authentication category which combine to form a password entry. An authentication server can compare the password entry to an authentication password corresponding to the particular arrangement of dynamic graphical images. The selection of graphical images, their arrangement and their corresponding password elements, may dynamically change in between authentication processes.10-02-2008
20090240578METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR GRAPHICAL SECURITY AUTHENTICATION AND ADVERTISING - The present invention is directed to a graphical image identity authentication system. In particular, the invention is directed to methods and systems for graphical security authentication and advertising. A security authentication system may receive advertisements from an advertising service company, process the advertisements to integrate them into the graphical image identity authentication system, and transmit the processed advertisement information back to the advertisement service company. The security authentication system may also monitor user interaction with the advertisements and transmit the logged information to the advertising service company.09-24-2009
