20110104835METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SEMICONDUCTOR LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENTS - A method of manufacturing semiconductor light emitting elements with improved yield and emission power uses laser lift-off and comprises the steps of forming a semiconductor grown layer formed of a first semiconductor layer, an active layer, and a second semiconductor layer on a first principal surface of a growth substrate; forming a plurality of junction electrodes apart on the second semiconductor layer and forming guide grooves arranged in a lattice to surround each of the junction electrodes in the second semiconductor layer; joining together a support and the semiconductor grown layer via the junction electrodes; projecting a laser to separate the growth substrate; dividing the semiconductor grown layer into respective element regions for the semiconductor light emitting elements; and cutting the support, thereby separating into the semiconductor light emitting elements. Removed regions include regions where the guide grooves are formed, and side walls of the second semiconductor layer formed by the guide grooves have a beveled shape at intersections of the guide grooves.05-05-2011

20080278411Method of Driving Information Display Device - When information of one frame such as an image is displayed by performing a scanning operation with respect to line electrodes consisting of a plurality of electrodes extending in a line direction on one substrate and column electrodes consisting of a plurality electrodes extending in a column direction on the other substrate in such a manner that a voltage is applied to the line electrodes from one end to the other end, a voltage for generating a cross-talk in the first color and a voltage for generating a cross-talk in the second color are applied to all the cells of a display portion once or more times respectively after one frame is displayed. Specifically, two or more lines are added at the end of the scanning operation, and a drive, in which a display of the first color and a display of the second color are performed one or more times respectively, is performed after one scanning operation is finished (first aspect). Moreover, as a driving voltage applied to the electrodes for generating an electrostatic field, use is made of a pulse voltage which is composed of a plurality of voltages consisting of a driving voltage generating an ON state and a voltage of not larger than a threshold value, at which the display media start to move, generating an OFF state (second aspect). Further, when a pixel rewriting operation is performed once, a plurality of pulses are applied, and, during the one pixel rewriting operation, a driving waveform is adjusted in such a manner that a polarity of a cross-talk voltage applied to a non-rewriting pixel is not changed (third aspect).11-13-2008
20090040190INFORMATION EQUIPMENT - In an information equipment including: a display device having display memory properties, which displays information by a passive drive or an active drive, in which scan electrodes are sequentially addressed; and a position detector for detecting a position of an input means; wherein a display information is updated in accordance with an input of the position detector, a plurality of scan electrodes are selected simultaneously, when the display information is to be changed. Hereby, even in the case of using a display device, which displays information by a passive drive or an active drive, in which scan electrodes are sequentially addressed, the information equipment, in which display speed is not slow, can be provided.02-12-2009

20100215122Receiving Circuit - A receiver is provided that has reduced power consumption and seldom operates erroneously. The receiver generally includes: an input circuit or photoreceptor that receives a modulated digital signal that can includes a preamble; a detector that detects the received digital signal and outputs a baseband signal; a comparator that compares baseband signal and a reference signal; an integration circuit that integrates baseband signal; hysteresis circuits that generates voltage signals based on an average value signal from integration circuit; a multiplexer that selects between the signals from the hysteresis circuits based on a digital output signal from comparator; and a pulse detection counter that counts the number of pulses of the digital signal from comparator and outputs a count signal to one of the hysteresis circuits.08-26-2010
20100302545PARTICULATE DETECTOR SYSTEM - A particulate detector system is provided that can sense particulates (such as smoke in the air). The system employs a reflected light system that generally avoids making measurements of light intensity. Instead, coded signals are compared with one another to determine error rates between emitted light and detected light (across a chamber). Based on the error rate, processing circuitry can determine particulate concentration.12-02-2010
