20080245665BIOSENSOR - A biosensor for determining the concentration of an analyte in a biological sample. The biosensor comprises a support, a reference electrode or a counter electrode or both disposed on the support, a working electrode disposed on the support, the working electrode spaced apart from the other electrode or electrodes on the support, a covering layer defining a sample chamber over the electrodes, an aperture in the covering layer for receiving a sample, and at least one layer of mesh in the sample chamber between the covering layer and the electrodes. The at least one layer of mesh has coated thereon a silicone surfactant. Certain silicone surfactants are as effective as fluorinated surfactants with respect to performance of biosensors. These surfactants, when coated onto the mesh layer of the biosensor, are effective in facilitating the transport of aqueous test samples, such as blood, in the sample chamber.10-09-2008
20090255811BIOSENSOR COATING COMPOSITION AND METHODS THEREOF - The disclosure provides for reagent compositions for biosensors comprising release polymers, methods of making such biosensors and films of reagent compositions comprising release polymers. The reagent compositions comprise a release polymer and an effective analyte detecting amount of an enzyme an enzyme cofactor and a redox compound capable of acting in a biosensor as (i) a redox mediator associated with a working electrode (ii) a redox couple associated with a reference electrode or (iii) the redox mediator associated with the working electrode and the redox couple for the reference electrode.10-15-2009

20090159507SCREEN SEPARATORS - Apparatus is provided, in or for a screen separator for sieving materials, for clamping one or more sieve screen frames 78 within the confines of a chassis 40 of the separator to prevent egress of material from the separator. The apparatus comprises a sheath 50 extending around and embracing the chassis 40 and one or more expandable elements 66 for urging the sheath 50 against the chassis 40 and the screen frame(s) 78 to impart uniform clamping pressure to the clamped elements. The sheath 50 is designed to provide ease of mounting and release.06-25-2009
20090194467SIEVING APPARATUS - An industrial sieving or screening machine has a resonator rod on the separator screen. The rod extends between two spaced ends and has a transducer located at one end to excite the rod over its length to assist with deblinding the screen. The rod may be spiral in shape or shaped with other smoothly blended complex curves such as an S-shape. A spiral rod resonator fixed to the top of the sieve screen may be used as a guide for material to be screened.08-06-2009
