20110240690DRAWSTRING RESTRINGING APPARATUS AND METHOD - An apparatus and method for restringing a drawstring through a drawstring reception channel includes a semi-flexible elongated main body and a drawstring coupling structure. The coupling structure is located at a trailing end of the main body so that a drawstring can be pulled through the drawstring reception channel behind the apparatus. The coupling structure has a first slotted opening, a second slotted opening behind the first slotted opening, and a third opening between the first and second slotted openings. The third opening has a round shape with a diameter substantially the same as a width of the first and second slotted openings. A drawstring can be coupled to the coupling structure by passing the leading tip end of the drawstring through the first slotted opening and either the second slotted opening or the third round opening depending on whether the leading tip end has a protective plastic covering.10-06-2011

20110259054Glassware Mold Cooling Air Supply - A glassware forming machine includes a machine section box having a cooling air outlet opening, at least one mold-carrying arm disposed above the section box and movable between mold-open and mold-closed positions, and means for delivering cooling air from the outlet opening to the mold arms. The machine in accordance with this aspect of the disclosure is characterized in that the means for delivering cooling air includes a valve plate mounted on the section box to pivot around an axis and having a valve plate opening that registers with the outlet opening in the section box. A pressure plate is mounted on the mold-carrying arm overlying the valve plate and has a pressure plate opening that registers with the valve plate opening. A coupling between the valve plate and the pressure plate pivots the valve plate on the section box as a function of motion of the mold-carrying arm between the mold-open and mold-closed positions such that cooling air is continuously fed to the mold-carrying arm through the valve plate and the pressure plate. The coupling preferably is a lost motion coupling such that motion of the mold arm is not imparted to the valve plate during initial motion in either the opening or the closing direction.10-27-2011

20100294318Apparatus and Method For Cleaning Conveyor Buckets - An apparatus and method for cleaning each bucket of a bucket conveyor in which each successive bucket is brought into a cleaning station on an elevator section of the conveyor where it is tipped sideways and enclosed within an open ended box enclosure and fixed plate engaged by the open end of the box enclosure, the inside of the bucket then cleaned with steam sprays from a steam head carried within the box enclosure, moving side by side during the cleaning. A vacuum collector draws out steam, condensed water and dislodged residue. Additional steam sprays directed from fixed nozzles on the backing plate may optionally be used to clean the bucket exterior bottom and the conveyor chains.11-25-2010

20110287534AUTOMATED FILLING OF FLEXIBLE CRYOGENIC STORAGE BAGS WITH THERAPEUTIC CELLS - An apparatus and processes for aseptically dispensing live mammalian cells into sterile, flexible bags in a non-sterile atmosphere. The method includes the steps of: providing the cells suspended in a liquid; providing a plurality of sterile flexible bags fluidly connected to a main line by a plurality of branch lines of sterile flexible tubing; evacuating air from the flexible bags by applying a vacuum to the open end of the main line; preventing fluid flow through all branch lines except that of one bag to be filled; dispensing a desired volume of cell suspension into the open end of the main line; and introducing sufficient sterile purging gas under pressure into open end of the main line to drive into the bag any of the dispensed volume remaining in the main line or branch line of filled bag. Cells can be cryogenically preserved in the filled bags.11-24-2011

20110214660SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A COOLING FAN OF AN APPLIANCE - A system for monitoring a cooling fan having one or more fans blade and utilized in an appliance having a heating element. Such a system generally includes an electric switch actuated by a magnetic field of a magnet mounted on a rotary member of the cooling fan. The electric switch can be located proximate to the magnet, such that the magnet rotates past the electric switch to actuate the electric switch via the magnetic field at a switching frequency with each rotation of the rotary member. Such a system can include a circuit responsive to an electrical signal from the electric switch. The circuit can generates a signal indicative of the status of the cooling fan, based on the switching frequency of the electric switch. Such a signal can prevent overheating of the heating elements in case of a failure of the cooling fan.09-08-2011
