20140363148 | SPRING-LOADED CEILING MOUNT FOR A SECURITY CAMERA - A ceiling mount for a security camera includes a back end located in a ceiling space when the ceiling mount is mounted, a front end located below the ceiling when the ceiling mount is mounted, and a spring-loaded clamp to clamp the ceiling mount to the ceiling. The spring-loaded clamp includes a spring connected to a force application member. The clamp can be locked in a loaded state before the mounting process begins. When in the loaded state the spring in the clamp is sufficiently deflected to allow the ceiling to pass between the front end and the force application member. During mounting, once the back end has been pushed into the ceiling space the clamp can be released from the loaded state, which allows the spring to push the force application member against the ceiling and secure the ceiling mount to the ceiling. | 12-11-2014 |

20100019403 | PRODUCTION AND RECOVERY OF POLYMERIC MICRO- AND NANOPARTICLES CONTAINING BIOACTIVE MACROMOLECULES - The present invention describes a method to encapsulate bioactive macromolecules, as example but not limited for, peptidic drugs, into polymeric particles sizing less than 10 μm of diameter Particle production is based on emulsification/internal gelation procedure and comprises a formation of a water-in-oil emulsion followed by solubilization of dispersed insoluble calcium complex triggering gelation of said polymer dispersed in internal phase, by ionic cross-linking with free calcium ions. Finally, resulting gelled particles dispersed in the oil phase are recovered by partition phases coupled with high speed centrifugation cycles. In this case, the present invention describes a precise methodology to recover said gelled polymeric particles after particle production and includes an addition of acetate buffer solution at predetermined pH, dehydrating agents and residual oil dissolvent agent, at predetermined concentration, followed by high speed centrifugation cycles. This method of production and recovery was applied to the macromolecule, insulin, and demonstrated that the bioactivity of said peptidic drug was preserved. | 01-28-2010 |
20100143484 | ORAL SUBMICRON PARTICLE DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR PROTEINS AND PROCESS FOR ITS PRODUCTION - The invention provides a novel submicron system for the oral administration of proteins. An effective oral carrier for proteins should shield its content against the gastrointestinal tract proteases and be capable of facilitating the uptake of the protein drug across the gastrointestinal epithelium. The present invention relates to production of gelled particles which comprises a protein drug susceptible to enzymatic degradation by enzymes and acid conditions in the stomach, a polymeric matrix which undergoes precipitation-swelling process, and two-layer-coating materials which are themselves capable of enhancing absorption of said drug across the intestinal mucosal tissues and of inbihiting degradation of said drug by gastric enzymes. Insulin-loaded particles with appropriate submicron size for gastrointestinal absorption were made of natural occurring polymers by emulsification-based method and proved to be gastric pH and protease protective. Effects on glycemia were observed during 14 h after their oral single administration to rats, achieving 42% of pharmacological activity compared to subcutaneous administration. Postprandial rise in blood glucose was suppressed and insulinemia levels increased by a factor of seven. The relative oral bioavailability of insulin calculated over 8 h by comparison with a subcutaneous injection of free insulin was 34%. | 06-10-2010 |
