20090182533REMOTE DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE - Diagnostic events can be collected on electronic devices at geographically distributed service centers and transmitted to a remote (e.g., network-based) diagnostic service. The diagnostic service can aggregate and analyze the diagnostic events to determine, for example, one or more possible causes of the diagnostic events, and can provide information or guidance to users and/or service personnel for characterizing, resolving or explaining the diagnostic events. In one aspect, log files of diagnostic events captured on devices are sent to the diagnostic service. For each log file, the diagnostic service can compute frequencies of recorded diagnostic events. The computed frequencies can be compared against accepted and/or expected values generated from reference data. The diagnostic service can respond to users and/or service personnel with information or guidance for resolving, characterizing or explaining the diagnostic event based on a result of the comparisons.07-16-2009

20090113787Palladium Catalyzed Hydrogenation of Bio-Oils and Organic Compounds - The invention provides palladium-catalyzed hydrogenations of bio-oils and certain organic compounds. Experimental results have shown unexpected and superior results for palladium-catalyzed hydrogenations of organic compounds typically found in bio-oils.05-07-2009
20100154305METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CATALYTIC HYDROTHERMAL GASIFICATION OF BIOMASS - Continuous processing of wet biomass feedstock by catalytic hydrothermal gasification must address catalyst fouling and poisoning. One solution can involve heating the wet biomass with a heating unit to a temperature sufficient for organic constituents in the feedstock to decompose, for precipitates of inorganic wastes to form, for preheating the wet feedstock in preparation for subsequent separation of sulfur contaminants, or combinations thereof. Treatment further includes separating the precipitates out of the wet feedstock, removing sulfur contaminants, or both using a solids separation unit and a sulfur separation unit, respectively. Having removed much of the inorganic wastes and the sulfur that can cause poisoning and fouling, the wet biomass feedstock can be exposed to the heterogeneous catalyst for gasification.06-24-2010

20090248172POROUS MEMBRANE COMPRISING A BIOCOMPATIBLE BLOCK-COPOLYMER - The invention relates to a membrane comprising a biocompatible block copolymer and has a porous structure with regularly distributed pores. A method for preparing said membranes is also provided.10-01-2009
20100168832SCAFFOLDS FOR ARTIFICIAL HEART VALVES AND VASCULAR STRUCTURES - The invention relates to scaffolds for artificial heart valves and vascular structures comprising a biocompatible block copolymer. A method and means for producing said scaffold are also provided.07-01-2010
20110093066Degradable Biocompatible Block Copolymer - Disclosed is a biocompatible block copolymer containing the polycondensation product of a diol and an additional component selected from the group of the same diol, an α,ω-dihydroxy-polyester or an α,ω-dihydroxy-polyether. Also disclosed are a medical implant containing the block copolymer, the use of said block copolymer for the production of a medical implant, a diol and a method for the production thereof. The diol may be obtained by transesterification of α,ω-dihydroxy-[(oligo(3-(R)-hydroxybutyrate)-ethylene-oligo-(3-(R)-hydroxybutyrate)] with diglycolide. Transesterification is carried out, preferably, in the presence of a catalyst.04-21-2011

20090276280Using Alerts to Bring Attention to In-Store Information - A method is provided that uses alerts to bring in-store information that is of interest to the attention of team members working in a retail store. To send an alert to a team member logged in to a device data, data from a source is evaluated against business rules. An event is generated when a piece of data satisfies the business rules. The event indicates that the piece of data is of interest. A task is activated for the event and assigned to the team member acting in a role associated with the source of the event. An alert is sent to the device that the team member is logged in to indicating that the team member has been assigned the task.11-05-2009

20120043848CONTINUOUSLY FORMED ANNULAR LAMINATED ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR ITS MANUFACTURE - An apparatus and method for the production of relatively large diameter annular components, such as stator cores for electric motors, without excessive waste of material. In one embodiment, a first progressive die assembly forms a plurality of identical pole pieces each made of a plurality of individual stacked and interlocked laminations. The pole pieces, having protruding end portions, are loaded into a rotary carousel. A second progressive die assembly forms a continuous strip including a plurality of body segments connected via hinge portions disposed adjacent recesses between the body segments that are dimensioned to receive the protruding ends of the pole pieces. As the continuous strip is formed, it is wound about the rotary carousel with progressive pivoting of the body segments about the hinge portions to capture the protruding ends of the pole pieces within the recesses, with continued winding of the strip in a helical fashion around the rotary carousel continuing until a desired height is reached that is substantially equivalent to the height of the pole pieces. The strip is then cut, and the resulting annular part is welded at one or more locations to secure the components together.02-23-2012
