20160049569 | THERMOELECTRIC POWER SOURCE FOR PERSONAL ELECTRONICS AND WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES HAVING SAME - A wearable electronic device, an alternative power source for a wearable electronic device, and a method of powering a wearable electronic device, are provided. The device includes a casing and electronics disposed therein. A thermoelectric generator such as a Peltier device is provided in electrical communication with the electronics; a heat absorbing side is in thermal communication with the wearer of the wearable electronic device when the device is worn. When the electronic device is worn by a wearer, body heat from the wearer is absorbed by the heat absorbing side and converted into electricity by the Peltier device which at least partially powers the electronics. At least one fin is provided in thermal communication with the heat releasing side, drawing heat away from the Peltier device. The fin is disposed substantially through the casing with the distal end terminating substantially at a top side of the casing. | 02-18-2016 |

20090245434 | APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR TILE AND ASSIGNMENT PROCESSING - Disclosed are methods and apparatus for synchronizing tile processing and assignment processing in a communication device. In particular, the methods and apparatus utilize a tile processing scorecard with a number of assertable bits corresponding to a number of tiles to be tile processed. As each tile is tile processed, the scorecard or bit indicators are asserted to indicate that the tile has been processed. Assignment jobs, which involve codewords having information from symbols in multiple tiles are processed after all of the pertinent tiles are tile processed. The scorecard information is accessible for assignment processing to determine which tiles have been processed, thus affording synchronization of tile processing with assignment processing, while maximizing the independence of these two processing operations. Tile processing operations may further use the scorecard information to prioritize or order tile processing in relation to known queued assignment jobs. | 10-01-2009 |

20080208863 | Compound Item Locking Technologies - The present invention provides technologies including an item management system for the management of compound items and the storage of such items in tabular format using storage systems such as a database management system. Compound items may include file items which may be stored in a file format using storage systems such as a file system. The present invention further provides technologies for locking such compound items upon access by an application to preserve integrity of the items. In particular, the technologies allow for locking compound items including file items where the file items may be accessed via the item management system and/or via an associated file system. | 08-28-2008 |

20080288487 | Typed Relationships between Items - Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to creating, maintaining, and using relationships between items. In aspects, items such as files, folders, and other objects may be stored in a data store. A user may desire to form a relationship between two items that provides additional semantic information regarding the relationship. To do so, an instance of an item reference is created and populated with data that associates the item reference with a source item and optionally a target item. The item reference is part of a type hierarchy and inherits properties from ancestor types. These types are included in a payload of the item reference and may be exposed to programs that seek to obtain information about the relationship indicated by the item reference. An item reference may be added without changing other data about the referenced items. | 11-20-2008 |
