20120075037APPARATUS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS - In one or more embodiments described herein, there is provided an apparatus comprising input and output waveguides, and a carbon nanotube array. The array is positioned to electromagnetically couple the waveguides. The array has a slow-wave factor associated therewith, the speed of propagation of waves through the array being determined by this slow-wave factor. The array also has a first interface region. The apparatus further comprises a tuning element positioned to oppose the first interface region of the array to define a tuning distance. The slow-wave factor is affected by this tuning distance, and the tuning element is configured to be movable with respect to the first interface region so as to vary this tuning distance and thereby control the speed of propagation of waves through the array.03-29-2012

20090207894Apparatus, methods, and computer program products providing improved communication in decentralized wireless networks - The exemplary embodiments of the invention enable self-organizing decentralized functionalities in wireless networks, such as ones having an arbitrary topology (e.g., cognitive radio networks), that utilize non-continuous communication, such as packet-based communication. In one exemplary embodiment of the invention, a method includes: making at least one locally available decision or measurement by a first apparatus; and performing a local exchange of information between the first apparatus and at least one second apparatus within a decentralized wireless communication network that at least partially utilizes packet-based communication, wherein the local exchange of information enables cooperation between the first apparatus and the at least one second apparatus in making a collective decision at least partially based on at least one local decision or measurement.08-20-2009
20100074445Encryption/identification using array of resonators at transmitter and receiver - A sender and a receiver includes first and second arrays of coupled oscillators, respectively, that are substantially identically constructed so as to exhibit substantially the same dynamical response to excitation. A chaotic waveform generated at the sender is transmitted to the receiver, which generates a second chaotic waveform, and compares the received waveform with the generated second waveform. If the first and second waveforms match the sender is an authorized sender. An integrated circuit includes an array of coupled oscillators that in combination generate a waveform in response to at least one excitation signal. The array of coupled oscillators represents, in response to application of the excitation signals, a multi-dimensional security key that is shared between the sender of the waveform and the receiver of the waveform.03-25-2010

20110012348HIGHLY- TIGHT THREADED JOINT - The invention relates to building oil and gas wells and can be used in casing strings and tubings. The inventive highly-tight screw joint comprises internal and external mating elements with conical surfaces. The internal and external elements are provided with a thread. Said thread has supporting and embedded faces. A sealing unit is made in the form of a wedge on the side of a small diameter. The sealing unit is provided on the internal and external elements. The sealing unit consists of the parts of the internal and external elements. The internal and external elements of the sealing unit are formed by conical radial and conical stop faces. The conical radial face is made at an angle of 25°-35° to the normal to the thread axis. The conical supporting surface is made at the angle of 10°-25° to the normal to thread axis. Said invention makes it possible to increase the reliability, the tightness and the strength of the joint, to ease the assembly and disassembly thereof, to improve the abrasion resistance of the joint and to extend the service life thereof.01-20-2011

20120016441DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC PULSE STIMULATION OF HEALING OF WOUNDS - A device that improves the efficiency of the treatment process, shortens healing time, and treats large-area wound surfaces and various forms of local inflammatory processes comprising an HF generator, power source, timer, pedal, electronic module control device, and a device for delivering exposure energy from the generator to biological tissue, wherein the pedal is pressed, a signal arrives at a timer and electronic module for controlling a device for the metered movement of a needle electrode. By means of this module, movement to a specified depth can be ensured. After the needle electrode is inserted into biological tissue, a signal to turn on the HF generator is sent automatically from the timer and a movement sensor. The current of the HF generator is modulated by a modulator that is fed to needle electrode. The timer turns off the HF generator, and the needle electrode is extracted from the biological tissue.01-19-2012

20100054979POSITIVE-DISPLACEMENT MACHINE DESIGN (VARIANTS) - In the first variant, the device comprises a stator and a rotor eccentrically mounted in the stator. A planetary train consists of large and small gear wheels. The large gear wheel is fixedly arranged on the outside of the small gear wheel and it is enabled to run around the small gear wheel of the planetary train. The stator is coupled with the large gear wheel and the rotor is coupled with the small gear wheel. In the second variant, the device comprises a stator and a rotor. The small gear wheel is fixedly arranged and the large gear wheel is enabled to run around the small gear wheel of the planetary train. The stator is coupled with the small gear wheel and the rotor is coupled with the large gear wheel. The equations describing the outlines of the stator and rotor are disclosed for the first and second variant.03-04-2010
