20090152689Integrated Circuit Package for High-Speed Signals - An integrated circuit package having a multi-segment transmission line transformer for impedance matching a packaged integrated circuit, such as a driver or receiver, to a printed circuit board (PCB) transmission line to which the packaged chip is attached by, for example, solder balls. In one exemplary embodiment, a three-segment transmission line transformer provides improved broadband performance with the advantage of having a middle segment with a flexible length for easier routing. The length of each end segment of the three-segment transformer is adjusted to provide at least partial cancellation of reflections between the PCB and the transformer, and between the transformer and a circuit on the integrated circuit, respectively. Further, the inductive reactance of the solder balls and via wiring may be cancelled out by the transformed chip impedance to provide a non-inductive termination to the PCB transmission line at approximately one-half the highest data rate of the channel.06-18-2009

20090193428Systems and Methods for Server Load Balancing - In one embodiment a system and a method relate to generating a server load balancing algorithm configured to distribute workload across multiple application servers, publishing the server load balancing algorithm to switches of the network, and the switches applying the server load balancing algorithm to received network packets to determine how to distribute the network packets among the multiple application servers.07-30-2009
20090287951Network device and method of operating the same - A network device includes multiple ports for accepting network connections, at least one memory for storing a fail-safe device configuration, a normal operational device configuration and one or more triggering events, and one or more processors connected to the memory for controlling the operation of the network device. The processor causes the network device to operate according to the fail-safe configuration in response to the occurrence of a triggering event.11-19-2009
20100189010NETWORK EDGE SWITCH CONFIGURATION BASED ON CONNECTION PROFILE - Connection profiles are created and stored. The connection profiles are for connections for sources to connect to a network. The connection profiles identify network attributes for the connections and each connection profile includes a status of available or subscribed. A connection profile is assigned to a requested connection for a source. The network attributes for the assigned connection are sent to an edge switch for the source to configure the edge switch to accept traffic for the source.07-29-2010
20100191852SOURCE CONFIGURATION BASED ON CONNECTION PROFILE - Connection profiles are created and stored. The connection profiles are for connections for sources to connect to a network. The connection profiles identify network attributes and server attributes for the connections and each connection profile includes a status of available or subscribed. A connection profile is assigned to a requested connection for a source. The source is authenticated using a credential, and server attributes from the connection profile are sent to the source to configure the source to use the connection.07-29-2010
20100192075NETWORK CONNECTION MANAGEMENT USING CONNECTION PROFILES - Connections for sources to connect to a network are managed by storing connection profiles identifying network attributes for the connections. Each connection profile includes a status of available or subscribed. Requests for connections are received. If a stored connection profile is available that matches the request, the connection for the matching connection profile is assigned to the source.07-29-2010
20120117218NETWORK CONNECTION MANAGEMENT USING CONNECTION PROFILES - Connections for sources to connect to a network are managed by storing connection profiles identifying network attributes for the connections. Each connection profile includes a status of available or subscribed. Requests for connections are received. If a stored connection profile is available that matches the request, the connection for the matching connection profile is assigned to the source.05-10-2012

20120129671PROFILED HEAT SEALER AND METHODS FOR SHAPED SEALS - Web sealing apparatus includes a shaped sealing unit where the shape on one side of the element corresponds to a desired seal pattern in a multiple ply web and a heating element secured to another side of the sealing element, where the heating element is oriented to provide more heat energy to a portion of the sealing element corresponding to a desired seal pattern in one multiple ply portion of said web and less heat energy to a portion of the sealing element corresponding to a desired seal pattern in another portion of said web of fewer plies, The invention includes structure for adjusting the radial position of sealing units on a rotatable drum sealer. Multiple sealing units are adjustably mounted on a sealing drum or wheel for applying varied parameter seals in multiple-ply webs wrapped about said drum in contact with said sealing units. Methods are disclosed.05-24-2012

20110040274Relative Stiffness Fasteners - A fastening member has an inboard end and an outboard end and a panel region, an end region, and a fastening element. The panel region has a proximal edge and a distal edge. The panel region is disposed adjacent to the inboard end and is more extensible than the end region. The end region is disposed adjacent to the outboard end. The end region has a fastening element zone having a first stiffness and an intermediate zone having a second stiffness. The first stiffness is greater than the second stiffness. The intermediate zone is disposed between the fastening element zone and the panel region adjacent to the distal edge. The fastening element is disposed in the end region and defines the fastening element zone.02-17-2011
20110247199Reconfigurable Converting Lines and Methods for Fabricating Both Taped Diapers and Pant Diapers - Aspects of the apparatuses and methods according to the present disclosure relate to a converting apparatus for the fabrication of absorbent articles. The apparatuses and methods may be adapted to operate in a first configuration to produce a plurality of taped diapers. The apparatuses and methods may also be adapted to operate in a second configuration to produce a plurality of pant diapers.10-13-2011

20110127358Anti-piracy system and method - An anti-piracy system for a vessel produces a non-lethal all of water along the side of the vessel to wash away a pirate. A cylindrical cap has a top, a bottom edge, a hollow interior, and an outside surface. A slit is defined within the outside surface forming a partial opening within the cap from the interior to the outside surface. A threaded hose fitting is formed within the interior, wherein the cap can be secured to a fire suppression node on the vessel with the downward face positioned over a side of the vessel for forcibly dispersing water through the slit downward over the side of the vessel. The cap is positioned near the deck of the vessel, just over the side of the vessel such that upon activation of the tire suppression system the water is directed downward over the side of the vessel.06-02-2011
