20110193626FREQUENCY RESPONSE COMPENSATION AMPLIFIER ARRANGEMENTS - An embodiment of the present invention provides a system comprising a summing device and first amplifier portion. The summing device is coupled to an output node. The first amplifier portion is coupled between an input node and the summing device. The first amplifier portion includes a first amplifier, a first filter, and first and second switches. The first amplifier is coupled between the input node and the summing device on a first path. The first filter is coupled between the input node and the first amplifier on a second path, the second path being in parallel to the first path. The first switch is coupled between the input node and the first amplifier along the first path. The second switch is coupled between the input node and the first filter along the second path.08-11-2011

20080264042METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR A NON-CATALYTIC NOx REDUCTION - A method of reducing NOx in exhaust gases generated by an internal combustion engine includes advancing the exhaust gases along an exhaust path to a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst positioned downstream from the internal combustion engine. The method further includes activating a heat source if the exhaust gases are below a predetermined temperature, such that the exhaust gases along a segment of the exhaust path are heated to a temperature of 700-1000° C. The method further includes injecting a reductant into the segment of the exhaust path upstream of the SCR catalyst to react in the segment with NOx in the exhaust gases. The method further includes deactivating the heat source if the temperature of the exhaust gases at the catalyst rises above the first predetermined temperature. An emission abatement assembly is also disclosed.10-30-2008
20080271447METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPLYING AIR TO AN EMISSION ABATEMENT DEVICE BY USE OF A TURBOCHARGER - A method includes supplying combustion air to a fuel-fired burner of an emission abatement device from a turbocharger. During periods of low turbo boost pressure, combustion air is supplied to the fuel-fired burner from an auxiliary source. An associated apparatus is also disclosed.11-06-2008
20080307780EMISSION ABATEMENT ASSEMBLY HAVING A MIXING BAFFLE AND ASSOCIATED METHOD - An emission abatement assembly includes a fuel-fired burner having a combustion chamber and a particulate filter positioned downstream of the fuel-fired burner. A mixing baffle is positioned between the fuel-fired burner and the particulate filter.12-18-2008

20100319329AIRLESS THERMAL REGENERATOR OR ENHANCER WITH MIXER - A combustor comprises a fuel-fired burner for a vehicle application. In one example, the fuel-fired burner is configured to regenerate a particulate filter where the fuel-fired burner comprises one of a thermal regenerator or thermal enhancer that operates with airless fuel injection. A fuel nozzle supplies fuel to the fuel-fired burner and an igniter ignites fuel sprayed from the fuel nozzle. A mixer is positioned downstream of the fuel nozzle and upstream of the igniter and operates to reduce fuel droplet size, which improves ignition.12-23-2010
20110138785THERMAL ENHANCER AND HYDROCARBON DOSER - A catalyst is positioned downstream of a thermal enhancer, such as a fuel-fired burner for example. A doser injects hydrocarbons into the thermal enhancer to maintain exhaust gas temperatures such that the catalyst is in an active condition and to raise exhaust gas temperatures to a level such that a diesel particulate filter can be regenerated.06-16-2011
20110174264AIRLESS FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM - An airless nozzle and fuel deliver system for a fuel-fired burner sprays fuel droplets for ignition to increase heat for regenerating an exhaust component. A source of pressurized fuel delivers pressurized fuel to a first fuel injector. In response to a first control signal, the first fuel injector is opened and fuel pressure is increased to a desired level to open a valve such that the fuel can be delivered to the airless nozzle. The airless nozzle sprays fuel droplets for a period of time that the first fuel injector is open. In response to a second control signal, the first fuel injector is closed and a second fuel injector is opened such that fuel is vented to decrease fuel pressure between the valve and the first fuel injector to stop the spray of fuel droplets by closing the valve.07-21-2011

20100181138TURBINE AUXILIARY POWER UNIT WITH A FUEL FIRED BURNER - A vehicle auxiliary power unit includes a turbine to provide a turbine output, a fuel-fired burner that provides a heat source for the turbine, and a heat exchanger that receives the turbine output. The heat exchanger generates a heat exchanger output to produce a predetermined output condition such as heating/cooling a cabin compartment, heating an exhaust component to a desired temperature, and/or heating an engine block, for example.07-22-2010
