20110074067Manufacture Of An Acoustic Silencer - A method for manufacturing a resonator is disclosed in which a sleeve insert is placed into a fixture within a blow molding apparatus. The sleeve insert has a wall with a first plurality of apertures in the wall at a first axial distance and a second plurality of apertures in the wall at a second axial distance. A parison is slid over the sleeve insert; the mold is clamped over the parison causing the parison to press into the sleeve insert at three locations: near the ends of the sleeve insert and at a location between the pluralities of apertures; and air is blown into the sleeve insert, via a blow pin, to expand the parison into the walls of the mold to form cavities proximate the first and second pluralities of aperatures. After cooling, the mold opens to release the newly formed resonator.03-31-2011

20110168687Heaters for Automotive Mirrors and Rearview Assemblies Using the Same - A vehicular rearview assembly with a heating element. The heating element is affixed behind and in thermal communication with the mirror element of the assembly. The heating element includes a plurality of heating zones that operate in alternation according to a pre-determined time-sequence. A peripheral area of the mirror element is heated up to at least as high a temperature as an inner area of the mirror element. Switching the heating zones on and off so as to have only one heating zone on at a time is determined by a controlling circuitry at least a portion of which may be separated from the assembly and disposed in a different part of the vehicle.07-14-2011

20090299829SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR JOB PLACEMENT - A computer-implemented method of recording employment history of a job seeker includes receiving at least one employment experience selection from a job seeker. A plurality of skills related to the at least one employment experience selection are presented to the job seeker over a network. The job seeker is asked to provide a time period corresponding to an amount of time that the job seeker has used a selected skill. The job seeker is also asked to select one of a plurality of predefined competency ratings for the selected skill. A time period and competency rating for the selected skill is received. A freeform text entry field is provided for the job seeker to provide information about how the job seeker has performed a selected task. A description of how the job seeker has performed the selected task is received over the network from the freeform text entry field. The at least one employment experience selection, the selected skill and related skill data received from the job seeker, and the selected task and related task data received from the job seeker are stored in a database on the server.12-03-2009

20100065458SPECIMEN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - A tray system for storing and transporting specimens, such as slides and paraffin blocks, includes a first tray having a top face with a first portion including a plurality of first compartments and a second portion adjacent the first portion including a plurality of second compartments, a width of the first compartments greater than a width of the second compartments. A top rim extends upwardly from the top face along a periphery of the first portion, and a bottom rim extends downwardly from an opposed bottom face about a perimeter corresponding to the periphery of the first portion on the top face. A second tray has a top face including a plurality of generally rectangular compartments each including flanges extending only partially across the compartment. A top rim extends upwardly around a perimeter of the top face, and a bottom rim extends downwardly around a perimeter of a bottom face. Both the first and second tray top rims are configured to receive both the first and second tray bottom rims to allow for interchangeable stacking of the first and second trays.03-18-2010

20090012675METHOD OF PROVIDING DATA-RELATED SERVICES TO A TELEMATICS-EQUIPPED VEHICLE - A communications method that gathers status information on a telematics-equipped vehicle before establishing a mobile-terminated data connection with that vehicle. In general, the communications method sends a status request message to a wireless carrier system that asks for certain status information on a particular telematics-equipped vehicle. After the wireless carrier system gathers the status information, it sends back a status response message. If the status response message indicates that the telematics-equipped vehicle is able to receive certain data-related services, then a mobile-terminated data connection is established and the services are provided. If the telematics-equipped vehicle is unable to receive the data-related services, then attempts are made to identify and resolve the problem. In cases where the telematics-equipped vehicle is not registered with a wireless network, a monitor request message is sent to the wireless carrier system which puts it on the lookout for registration of the vehicle in question.01-08-2009
20120008509DETECTING DEGRADATION OF WIRELESS NETWORK PERFORMANCE - A system and method for monitoring wireless network performance that provides a real-time detection and identification of problem areas within a wireless carrier's network. The method involves receiving and attempting to fulfill requests for vehicle services data sent via the wireless carrier system between vehicles and a call center or other remote facility. The success or failure of these attempts are recorded and associated with the geographic region in which the vehicle was located during the attempt, and this information for a multitude of vehicles is then analyzed in conjunction with other inputs and stored data to determine whether a particular geographic region is experiencing a wireless service outage or other degradation in performance.01-12-2012
