20160103665 | Real-Time Reporting Based on Instrumentation of Software - A data analysis system processes data generated by instrumented software. The data analysis system receives data streams generated by instances of instrumented software executing on systems. The data analysis system also receives metadata describing data streams. The data analysis system receives an expression based on the metadata. The data analysis system receives data of data streams for each time interval and computes the result of the expression based on the received data values. The data analysis system repeats these steps for each time interval. The data analysis system may quantize data values of data streams for each time interval by generating an aggregate value for the time interval based on data received for each data stream for that time interval. The data analysis system evaluates the expression using the quantized data for the time interval. | 04-14-2016 |

20150251121 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVING PARTICULATE MATTER FROM EXHAUST GAS STREAMS - A system for removing particulate matter from an exhaust gas includes a housing having an inlet, an outlet, and a drum region between the inlet and the outlet. A drum is rotatably mounted in the drum region of the housing and is aligned with the inlet and the outlet for intercepting the exhaust gas stream passing through the housing. The drum has a cylindrical shaped screen that allows the exhaust gas stream to pass through the drum while collecting the particulate matter present in the exhaust gas stream. As the screen rotates, a scrapper removes the particulate matter collected on the screen. A spray fixture located inside the drum sprays fluid at the inner surface of the screen to removes any particulate matter remaining on the screen after the outer surface of the screen has been scrapped. | 09-10-2015 |

20090043439 | Guidance, Navigation, and Control System for a Vehicle - The present invention provides a guidance, navigation, and control method and system for an underground mining vehicle that allow said vehicle to be taught a route by a human operator and then have it automatically drive the route with no human intervention. The method works in three steps: teaching, route profiling, and playback. In the teaching step the vehicle is manually driven by a operator (or using tele-operation whereby the operator views a screen displaying live views from vehicle-mounted cameras and using remote controls) along a route which can consist of an arbitrary sequence of maneuvers including tramming forwards, switching directions, tramming backwards, turning, or pausing movement. During this phase raw data from vehicle-mounted sensors including odometric sensors and rangefinders are logged to a file throughout teaching for later processing. During the (offline) route profiling step, the raw data in the log file are processed into a route profile including a vehicle path, a sequence of local metric submaps located along the path, and a profile of desired speed as a function of distance along the path. During the playback step, the vehicle automatically repeats the route that was taught during the teaching phase, as represented by the route profile. This is accomplished by first determining where the vehicle is on the route using a localization method which uses the odometric and laser rangefinder sensors and the local metric maps to determine the vehicle location. A steering control method adjusts the vehicle's steering to ensure it tracks the intended path. A drive control method adjusts the vehicle's speed accordingly and safety method ensures the vehicle stops in the event that an obstruction is on the vehicle's intended path. | 02-12-2009 |

20110207237 | OPTICAL FIBER PROBE - A biosensor having an optical fiber having at least one curved portion configured to enhance penetration of evanescent waves; and one or more nanoparticles associated with the optical fiber, and configured to enhance localized surface plasmon resonance. | 08-25-2011 |
20120170044 | Polymer Analysis Chip - A microfabricated analysis chip with integrated waveguides for evanescent field absorption detection is provided. Fabrication of the microfluidic device may be performed by micropatterning a layer of photoresist or other suitable material using a single step photoresist process to produce a microchannel and an optical structure (e.g., a U-bend waveguide) in the microfluidic device. The microfluidic device couples a micro-channel network with a waveguide in a collinear fashion to maintain higher path length and incurring little or no scattering, dispersion, and divergence losses. A sample can be passed through the microchannel while light is transmitted through the waveguide. Any change in refractive index as well as change in optical absorbance property of fluid flowing in the microchannel can be detected by detecting changes in light output power (e.g., changes in absorbance). A change in concentration of solution in the microchannel can be determined by detecting a change in light absorbance output. | 07-05-2012 |
