20090257243Fiber optic display systems and related methods - Fiber optic display systems and related methods are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a fiber optic display system can include a plurality of fiber optics. Output ends of the fiber optics can be spaced from one another and can be arranged in predetermined positions such that at least a portion of the output ends are positioned in a first plane and another portion of the output ends are positioned in a second plane. A light-transmissive material can contain the output ends. The output ends can terminate within the light-transmissive material and can be angled with respect to the light-transmissive material such that light transmitted within the fiber optics emits into the light-transmissive material. A light source can generate a plurality of light beams and selectively control input of the light beams into the input ends for transmission of light in the fiber optics such that an image is formed.10-15-2009

20080207022MEDIUM VOLTAGE SEPARABLE INSULATED ENERGIZED BREAK CONNECTOR - Medium voltage separable insulated connector system for power distribution systems and configured to make and break energized connections at rated voltage but in the absence of load current.08-28-2008
20090119899Method of Assembling a Vacuum Switchgear Assembly - Insulated vacuum switchgear and active switchgear elements therefor are provided with a rigid support structure mechanically isolating a vacuum insulator from axial loads in use without reinforcing or insulating encapsulations. At least one of the elastomeric insulating housing and the support structure directly contacts an outer surface of the insulator. Systems and methods for assembling the switchgear are also provided.05-14-2009
20100068907VISUAL LATCHING INDICATOR ARRANGEMENT FOR AN ELECTRICAL BUSHING AND TERMINATOR - An elbow terminator has a socket in which an electrical probe is disposed. The terminator is insertable onto an electrical bushing such that a tongue of the bushing is received in the socket of the terminator, and the probe of the terminator is electrically coupled to a contact sleeve disposed within the tongue. A latching mechanism produces positive latching between the tongue and socket when the tongue has been inserted to a predescribed depth within the socket. In order to enable an operator to visually observe that the tongue has been inserted to the prescribed depth, the bushing carries a color band which becomes completely disposed (invisible) in the socket when positive latching occurs. Alternatively, the bushing can be provided with gauge tabs which become aligned with a witness line formed on the terminator when positive latching occurs.03-18-2010

20090189591Power Supply Insensitive PTAT Voltage Generator - In temperature sensing circuitry PTAT (Proportional to Absolute Temperature) Voltage References are typically used. By adding a feedback circuit and a source follower into the classic design, the circuit can guarantee that the current is mirrored identically regardless of the value of power supply voltage. This added circuitry is easy to implement and is low in both power and area. The essence of this invention is that the PTAT circuit allows a large range of operation including low voltage (1 Volt) and more accurate temperature readings.07-30-2009
20100001696SYSTEM TO IMPROVE A MULTISTAGE CHARGE PUMP AND ASSOCIATED METHODS - A system to improve a multistage charge pump may include a capacitor, a first plate carried by the capacitor, and a second plate carried by the capacitor opposite the first plate. The system may also include a clock to control charging and discharging of the capacitor. The system may further include a power supply to provide a power supply voltage across the first plate and the second plate during charging of the capacitor. The system may also include a voltage line to lift the second plate to an intermediate voltage during discharging of the capacitor. The system may further include an output line connected to the first plate during discharging of the capacitor to provide an output voltage.01-07-2010
20100001709SYSTEM TO GENERATE A REFERENCE FOR A CHARGE PUMP AND ASSOCIATED METHODS - A system to generate a reference for a charge pump may include a diode-connected transistor providing a reference voltage, and an output transistor. The system may also include a reference circuit to provide a current that is substantially temperature insensitive and the reference circuit delivers the current across the diode-connected transistor thereby enabling the reference voltage to move with processing of the diode-connected transistor.01-07-2010
20100001766SYSTEM TO EVALUATE A VOLTAGE IN A CHARGE PUMP AND ASSOCIATED METHODS - A system to evaluate a voltage in a charge pump may include a transistor, and a transistor drain carried by the transistor with the transistor drain receiving a reference current. 20110197046STORAGE APPLICATION PERFORMANCE MATCHING - A method for matching storage application performance in a multiple tier storage system is disclosed. Input/output (I/O) activity in the multiple tier storage system is monitored to collect statistical information. The statistical information is recurrently transformed into an exponential moving average (EMA) of the I/O activity having a predefined smoothing factor. Data portions in the multiple tier storage system are sorted into buckets of varying temperatures corresponding to the EMA. At least one data migration plan is recurrently generated for matching the sorted data portions to at least one of an available plurality of storage device classes. One data portion sorted into a higher temperature bucket is matched with a higher performance storage device class of the available plurality of storage device classes than another data portion sorted into a lower temperature bucket.08-11-2011
