20090089716 | Automatic communication notification and answering method in communication correspondance - A communication correspondence notification and reply method is provided. The method is implemented as a software program with the objective to be less distractive and to increase work productivity compared to prior methods. In particular, a notification format for incoming communication correspondences is determined, without any guidance/input from the user, taking into account (i) monitored user activity and (ii) the type of incoming correspondence, i.e. the notification format is a function of tracked/monitored user activity and the message type with the objective to minimize distraction to the user. To further minimize user distraction, the software program determines an area on the display of the computer system where the incoming correspondence can be presented to the user. Once presented, the user then has the ability to reply with minimal effort by making a pointer-device gesture movement in reply to the presented notification. | 04-02-2009 |

20130004453 | NYLON-3 CO-POLYMERS AND SYNTHETIC LUNG SURFACTANT COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING SAME - Non-natural oligomers have recently shown promise as functional analogues of lung surfactant proteins Band C (SP-B and SP-C), two helical and amphiphilic proteins that are clitical for normal respiration. The generation of non-natural mimics of SP-B and SP-C has previously been restlicted to step-by-step, sequence-specific synthesis, which results in discrete oligomers that are intended to manifest specific structural attributes. Presented herein an alternative approach to SP-R mimicry that is based on sequence-random copolymers containing cationic and lipophilic subunits. These materials, members of the nylon-3 family, arc prepared by ling-opening polymelization of 13-lactams. The best of the nylon-3 polymers display promising in vitro surfactant activities in a mixed lipid film. Pulsating bubble surfactometry data indicate that films containing the most surface-active polymers attain adsorptive and dynamic-cycling properties that surpass those of discrete peptides intended to mimic SP-B. | 01-03-2013 |
20150231171 | NYLON-3 CO-POLYMERS AND SYNTHETIC LUNG SURFACTANT COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING SAME - Non-natural oligomers have recently shown promise as functional analogues of lung surfactant proteins B and C (SP-B and SP-C), two helical and amphiphilic proteins that are critical for normal respiration. The generation of non-natural mimics of SP-B and SP-C has previously been restricted to step-by-step, sequence-specific synthesis, which results in discrete oligomers that are intended to manifest specific structural attributes. Presented herein an alternative approach to SP-B mimicry that is based on sequence-random copolymers containing cationic and lipophilic subunits. These materials, members of the nylon-3 family, are prepared by ring-opening polymerization of β-lactams. Attachment of an N-terminal octadecanoyl unit to the nylon-3 copolymers affords further improvements by reducing the percent surface area compression to reach low minimum surface tension. | 08-20-2015 |

20120285424 | FUEL INJECTOR HEATER ELEMENT CONTROL VIA SINGLE DATA LINE - A system, heated fuel injector, and controller for closed-loop temperature control of a heated fuel injector having simultaneous two-way data communication over a single-line data connection. The system includes a voltage source to output a heater enable signal and a variable current sink configured to draw a current value indicative of a temperature value related to the heated fuel injector. The heater signal and the current value are simultaneously present on the single-line data connection. The configuration reduces the effect of ground shift on the accuracy of determining a feedback signal from the heated fuel injector. The feedback signal is a temperature value related to the heated fuel injector and is indicated by a current value. Because the feedback signal is a current value, the feedback signal is generally immune from being influenced by ground shift between the controller and the heated fuel injector. | 11-15-2012 |
20130249564 | SYSTEM AND METHOD TO DETECT A SHORT TO GROUND OF AN EXTERNAL SENSOR RETURN LINE - A controller, a system, and a method to detect a short to ground condition of a return line of an external sensor that outputs a sensor signal relative to the return line. A ground switch that electrically connects the return line to a ground potential when the ground switch is in the closed state is momentarily opened, and one or more sensor signals are checked to determine if the sensor signals change as expected when the ground switch is opened. If a value change of a sensor signal is less than a threshold value when the ground switch is switched from the closed state to the open state, then a short to ground condition of the return line is indicated. | 09-26-2013 |

20100320665 | ARROW FLETCHING DEVICE WITH PLATE CLAMP - An arrow fletching device with plate clamp, as well as features and aspects thereof, provides an arrow builder the means to accurately and repeatedly position fletching against the shaft of an arrow, without a spring loaded butterfly clamp component, and securely hold the fletching thereto until a bond is attained between the fletching and arrow shaft via an adhesive. Exemplary embodiments of an arrow fletching device with a plate clamp are, generally, jig apparatuses operable to precisely position an arrow shaft relative to an arrow fletching. More particularly, exemplary embodiments of an arrow fletching device comprise a plate component, in lieu of a spring-loaded butterfly clamp, useful for receiving, positioning and retaining fletching against the shaft of an arrow. Advantageously, the use of a plate component with a specifically profiled slot operable to receive and position a fletching reduces the steps required to adhere a fletching to an arrow shaft as well as mitigates the probability of improper installation of the fletching. | 12-23-2010 |
