20080312546Systems and Methods for Needle Access to an Intervertebral Disc - A catheter with a balloon anchor may be sized to fit through an inner needle and introduced into the patient through the needle. The inner needle may comprise an atraumatic needle with a side port and/or a blunt tip. The catheter may include a radiopaque coil disposed over the distal portion of the catheter body to assist with catheter placement when viewed with fluoroscopy and/or x-ray. The distal portion of the catheter can be very flexible. A balloon inflation tube may terminate proximal to a proximal end of the expandable balloon anchor such that the distal portion of catheter can be flexible. This termination of the inflation tube may also position the inflation tube away from the annulus and nerve roots, so as to avoid irritation of the annulus and rubbing of the nerve roots that may potentially obscure FAD test results.12-18-2008

20090088788METHODS AND APPARATUS HAVING MULTIPLE SEPARATELY ACTUATABLE EXPANDABLE MEMBERS - An apparatus includes a first expandable member and a second expandable member. The first expandable member has a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, and is configured to displace a portion of a bone when moved from its collapsed configuration to its expanded configuration. The second expandable member has a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, and is configured to limit movement of the first expandable member within a body of a patient when in its expanded configuration.04-02-2009
20090125042MAGNETIC ANASTOMOSIS DEVICE HAVING IMPROVED DELIVERY - A magnet assembly for a magnetic anastamosis device is provide that is minimally invasive, easily and quickly delivered, and is accurately positioned to improve the delivery procedure. The magnet assembly includes an elongated hub and a plurality of magnetic members disposed over the elongated hub. The elongated hub is formed of a resilient or shape memory material, permitting the magnet assembly to be operable between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration. In this manner, the package width of the magnet assembly is greatly reduced for delivery, thereby permitting delivery over a wire guide as well as through an access device such as a catheter. Associated delivery procedures and medical devices are also provided.05-14-2009

20090177111System and method for displaying contact between a catheter and tissue - A system and method for assessing and displaying a degree of contact between a sensor, an electrode, and tissue in a body is provided. Values for the sensor are read, and a degree of contact is calculated. This degree of contact is displayed to a clinician in a variety of ways to indicate the degree of contact to the clinician. The system and method find particular application in ablation of tissue by permitting a clinician to create lesions in the tissue more effectively and safely.07-09-2009
