20100012713Baggage handling system and method - A label for tracking and tracing baggage in a baggage handling system is disclosed. The label includes resonators doped into the label. The resonators providing the label with a unique signature and are capable of being read from approximately 2 meters. A baggage handling system incorporating a resonator based label system is also disclosed. The system includes at least one piece of baggage, a label for tracking and tracing baggage in the baggage handling system, at least one reader for reading the label in order to properly direct the attached at least one piece of baggage, and at least one baggage mover suitable for moving the at least one piece of baggage within the baggage handling system. The label includes resonators doped into the label that provide the label with a unique signature, the label being attached to and referenced with said at least one piece of baggage.01-21-2010
20100013640Apparatus, system and method for sensing to locate persons in a building in the event of a disaster - An apparatus, system and method that assesses the number and location of persons in a building. The invention may include none, one, two or more emitters, at least one sensor that senses reflected radiation indicative of a modification to the emitted radiation from multiple ones of the at least two emitters, and a communicative network, wherein sensing data from the at least one doppler sensor is forwarded to a remote central hub that manipulates the sensing data to an indication of the number and the location of the persons in the building. The sensors of the present invention may be, for example, doppler sensors, or any like sensor that senses biologically caused fluctuations within a monitored environment.01-21-2010
20100014126System and method for identifying a genuine printed document - A system and method for verifying that a document is included in a document management system is disclosed. This system and method includes radio frequency scanning at least a portion of the document, generating document data dependently upon the radio frequency scanning, comparing the generated document data to stored document data, the stored document data generated dependently upon a prior radio frequency scanning of at least a portion of the document, and outputting an indication of the document being included in the document management system as determined by the comparing.01-21-2010
20100017851System and process for registering and later confirming a written or printed document is genuine and unaltered, while mitigating the risk of its loss - A method for authenticating a document including: radio frequency scanning at least a portion of the document; optically scanning the document; generating a document data dependently upon the radio frequency scanning and optical scanning; comparing the generated data to stored data, the stored data being previously generated dependently upon a prior radio frequency scanning of the portion of the document and prior optical scanning of the document; and providing an output indicative of the document being authentic if the generated data is sufficiently identical to the stored data as determined by the comparing.01-21-2010
