20090013041REAL-TIME ASYNCHRONOUS EVENT AGGREGATION SYSTEMS - A real-time asynchronous event aggregation system, method, and network device are configured to capture real-time asynchronous events, and to pass them as input to one or more aggregation engines to determine a reputation for a target. The aggregation engine(s) may then send out notifications where a reputation category changes for a target, indicating that an action may be taken to inhibit spam messages from the target, highlight a display of content from the target, or the like. As such, the event-driven aggregation engines may be designed to capture real-time asynchronous events, such as reputation reports for a wide variety of activities, including, but not limited to spam and/or not-spam messages, determining a reputation on a posting of comments to a movie, a blog posting, a play list posting, or the like. In one embodiment, a reputation of the sender of the reputation event may also be determined.01-08-2009
20090013054DETECTING SPAM MESSAGES USING RAPID SENDER REPUTATION FEEDBACK ANALYSIS - A network device and method are directed towards detecting and blocking spam within a message by rapidly performing a predication analysis based on early received sender reputation reports. Reputation reports may be received from a plurality of users receiving messages that they interpret as either spam or non-spam. A reputation report rate prediction table is employed to predict the total number of user reports that will occur. The total number of spam reports and not spam (ham) reports for may then be used with a sender categorization model to rapidly predict whether the sender is likely to be a spammer. If the sender is determined to be a spammer, various preventative actions may be taken, including, but not limited to blocking messages from the sender to users, alerting third party filter generators of the spammer, or the like.01-08-2009

20090138013ELECTROSURGICAL TOOL WITH MOVEABLE ELECTRODE THAT CAN BE OPERATED IN A CUTTING MODE OR A COAGULATION MODE - An electrosurgical instrument is provided. The electrosurgical instrument includes an active electrode in close proximity to a return electrode. The active electrode has a first thermal diffusivity. The second electrode has a second thermal diffusivity greater than the first thermal diffusivity. The volume, shape, and thermal diffusivity of the second electrode facilitate the transport of heat.05-28-2009

20090062236Programmable genotoxic agents and uses therefor - The compositions and methods disclosed herein provide heterobifunctional programmable genotoxic compounds that can be designed to kill selected cells present in a heterogenous cell population. The present compounds comprise a first agent that inflicts damage on cellular DNA, and a second agent that attracts a macromolecular cell component such as a protein, which in turn shields genomic lesions from repair. Unrepaired lesions therefore persist in the cellular genome and contribute to the death of selected cells. In contrast, lesions formed in nonselected cells, which lack the cell component, are unshielded and thus are repaired. As a result, compounds described herein are less toxic to nonselected cells. Compounds of this invention can be designed to cause the selective killing of transformed cells, viral-infected cells and the like.03-05-2009

20080238780COUPLED SLOT PROBE ANTENNA - A coupled slot probe antenna for use with antenna structures in mobile communication devices, such as cellular telephones and other wireless communication devices. The coupled slot probe antenna includes at least one first conductive element, and a second conductive element coupled between the first conductive element and the printed circuit board (PCB) ground plane of the mobile communication device. The first and second conductive elements define a tunable coupled slot area and the coupled slot probe antenna is coupled to the PCB ground plane in such a way that the coupled slot area is near a low-impedance point of the antenna structure, wherein coupling therebetween improves the bandwidth and the efficiency of the antenna structure. The coupled slot area can be tuned by changing the size of the coupled slot area and by changing the position of the coupled slot area relative to the low-impedance point of the antenna structure.10-02-2008
20100033380Multi-Band Low Profile Antenna With Low Band Differential Mode - An antenna assembly includes a ground plane and an element coupled to the ground plane. The element has a center point, a first element portion extending away from the center point on a first side of the center point for a first distance in a first direction, bending at a first approximately 180 degree bend, extending towards the center point for a second distance in a second direction, bending at a second approximately 180 degree bend, and extending away from the center point for a third distance in the first direction. The element also has a second element portion provided on a second side of the center point opposite the first element portion on the first side of the center point, the second element portion being substantially a mirror image of the first element portion. The element also includes a ground leg located on the first side of the center point a first distance from the center point, extending substantially perpendicular to the first and second element portions, and coupling the element to the ground plane and a feed leg located on the second side of the center point a second distance from the center point, the feed leg extending substantially parallel to the ground leg.02-11-2010
