20080273934Circular Cutter Having Improved Centering Characteristics - A circular cutter is provided for use in cutting a hole through a main pipe wall from within a branch pipe, the circular cutter including a shaft rotated about a rotational axis, a circular cutter having at an outer end cutting teeth and an inner end secured to the shaft, and at least one centering ring secured to the circular cutter external cylindrical surface and of external diameter greater than the circular cutter external cylindrical surface and less than the internal diameter of the branch pipe, the centering ring serving to centrally position the circular cutter as it is rotated within the branch pipe and also serving to provide a positive stop to axial advancement of the circular cutter after it has cut through the main pipe wall.11-06-2008
20090301568Verifiable Closing and Locking System of a Cylindrical Passageway - A method according to this invention employs a set of valves, a series of pressure checks, and a physical stop for verifying the closing of a locking system of a cylindrical passageway. The method may also employ an equalization piping. The valves isolate a tapping machine, a pipeline, and the equalization piping from one another so that product cannot flow from one to the other. The valves are then opened as a series of pressure checks are performed. A completion plug is then lowered into the passageway until the plug comes to rest within the passageway and is oriented so that a locking ring of the plug is in a filly expanded position. The expanded position is then confirmed by raising the plug until its upward travel is restricted. The plug is then released and pressure above the plug is reduced to 0 psi gauge.12-10-2009

20090139939Method & Apparatus for Steam Backwashing a Filter Assembly - A method for steam backwashing a filter assembly. The filter assembly has a housing for receiving contaminated liquid and discharging filtered liquid, a filter positioned within the housing for filtering the contaminated liquid, and a drain coupled with the housing. Steam is sent through the housing to remove contaminants from the filter without draining the contaminated liquid or the filtered liquid from the housing. The steam forces the contaminated liquid, the filtered liquid and the contaminants through the drain.06-04-2009

Another method provided herein includes introducing a settable drilling fluid into a subterranean formation, wherein the settable drilling fluid includes cement, rock-forming mineral materials, water, and a set retarder; and permitting the settable drilling fluid to set in therein. A composition provided herein includes cement, rock-forming mineral materials and water. Another composition provided herein includes cement, rock-forming mineral materials, water, and a set retarder.08-21-2008
20080236451WELLBORE SERVICING COMPOSITIONS - A wellbore servicing comprising a calcium aluminate cement and at least one gelation inhibitor wherein the calcium aluminate cement comprises less than about 50 wt. % alumina, greater than about 2 wt. % iron oxide, or both. A wellbore servicing composition comprising calcium aluminate cement and a gelation inhibitor, wherein the gelation inhibitor comprises a copolymer comprising one or more sulfonated aromatic monomers and one or more acrylate monomers. A wellbore servicing composition comprising calcium aluminate cement and a gelation inhibitor, wherein the gelation inhibitor comprises a copolymer comprising alkylbenzene sulfonic acid, at least one methallyl sulfonic acid monomer; at least one copolymerizable nonionic monomer, and at least one copolymerizable olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer.10-02-2008
20080236826METHODS OF USING WELLBORE SERVICING COMPOSITIONS - A method of servicing a wellbore comprising placing in the wellbore a composition comprising a calcium aluminate cement and at least one gelation inhibitor, and allowing the composition to set. A method of servicing a wellbore comprising adjusting the thickening time of calcium aluminate cement by contacting the cement with a salt and a gelation inhibitor, wherein the gelation inhibitor comprises a copolymer comprising one or more sulfonated aromatic monomers and one or more acrylate monomers, placing the cement in the wellbore, and allowing the cement to set. A method of servicing a wellbore comprising preventing premature gelation of calcium aluminate cement by contacting the calcium aluminate cement with a gelation inhibitor comprising a copolymer, wherein the copolymer comprises alkylbenzene sulfonic acid, at least one methallyl sulfonic acid monomer, at least one copolymerizable nonionic monomer, and at least one copolymerizable olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, placing the cement in the wellbore, and allowing the cement to set.10-02-2008
20100032159Proppant-containing treatment fluids and methods of use - Substantially non-porous particulates formed from a starting mixture comprising at least one igneous or metamorphic material and which are suitable for use in subterranean operations such as gravel packing, frac-packing, and hydraulic fracturing and methods of using such particulates.
