Each flexible blade member is formed with a base portion which is mounted in the support base member and defines a plurality of transverse slits which extend away from the base portion to the outer edge of the blade member to form a plurality of flexible abrasive strips. A shield member is removably mounted to the handle housing, the shield defining an open lower section exposing the abrasive flexible strip and an open distal end through which the cutting tip extends.11-20-2008
20090049993Waffle and pancake cooking apparatus - A cooking apparatus for batter based foods that can be inserted into the slot of a traditional toaster and cooked using the toaster's heating mechanism. The apparatus has two hingedly connected complimentary cooking members, that when closed one upon the other, define an interior cavity shaped in the form of the desired cooked product. A clamping mechanism is built into the handles of each of the two cooking members and an overflow reservoir is formed by each of the cooking members and is positioned between the handles to vent gasses, steam, and/or excess batter upward when the device is placed in the toaster for cooking, thereby protecting the interior mechanism of the toaster from spillage.02-26-2009
20090206295Universal attachable/detachable air extraction valve for re-sealable storage bags - The invention is directed toward a universal self-sealing air extraction valve mounted to a self-closing plastic bag through which a pilot hole has been made. Air is extracted from the bag through the valve and prevented from returning to the bag after extraction, at which time, the valve is sealed with a cap assembly.08-20-2009

20110290051Flywheel System With A Variable Speed Drive - A variable speed drive for a flywheel system can have a first rotatable drive plate for coupling to a rotatable flywheel. The first drive plate can be positioned about an axis of rotation and have a drive surface lying generally laterally, across or transverse to the axis of rotation. A first rotatable drive wheel can have an outer circumference for engaging and being driven by the drive surface of the first drive plate. A generator can be rotatably coupled to the first drive wheel. A first actuator can control position of the first drive wheel relative to radial drive surface location on the first drive plate for controlling drive ratio and rotational speed of the generator.12-01-2011
20120060644Composite Flywheel - A flywheel includes a wheel having a composite rim structure with multiple radial layers of steel material. Epoxy type adhesive can bond the multiple layers of stainless steel together.03-15-2012

20090322598INTEGRITY OF DIFFERENTIAL GPS CORRECTIONS IN NAVIGATION DEVICES USING MILITARY TYPE GPS RECEIVERS - A method and apparatus for calculating corrections to a navigation solution based on differential GPS data includes receiving GPS ephemeris from at least three GPS satellites. A PVT solution is resolved from the GPS ephemeris. The PVT solution includes a Circular Error Probable (CEP). Differential GPS data for calculating the corrections to the PVT solution is received. A corrected PVT solution is then based upon the differential GPS data. The corrected PVT solution is compared to an area defined by the CEP. Where the corrected PVT solution is not within the area, the corrected PVT solution is rejected in favor of the PVT solution for determining an accurate navigational solution.12-31-2009
20110004404ENHANCED INERTIAL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE - An inertial system is provided. The system includes at least one inertial sensor, a processing unit and a plurality of Kalman filters implemented in the processing unit. The Kalman filters receive information from the at least one inertial sensor. At most one of the plurality of Kalman filters has processed zero velocity updates on the last cycle.01-06-2011

20100010443INSULIN RESERVOIR DETECTION VIA MAGNETIC SWITCHING - A system and method for detecting the presence of a medicament reservoir within the housing of an infusion pump. A medicament reservoir, affixed to a reservoir cap is removably inserted within the housing of an infusion pump. A magnet is affixed to or embedded in one or both of the reservoir or the reservoir cap. Alternately, the cap or the reservoir can be made of magnetic material. A sensing device embedded or otherwise affixed to the pump housing senses the presence or absence of the magnetic field created by the magnet. The presence of the magnetic field indicates that the reservoir is inserted properly within the housing and the absence of the magnetic field indicates that the reservoir has been at least partially withdrawn from the pump's housing.01-14-2010
