20080309478SEQUENTIAL BRAKE LIGHT SYSTEM - A sequential brake light system for road vehicles has a brake light array of plural lights in a linear, concentric or radial series. A master and slave controllers are connected to the array for lighting the lights in sequence and repeatedly at a rate that is proportional to a deceleration of the vehicle upon braking. A speed sensor senses the instantaneous vehicle speed and deactivates the master controller if the speed is below a threshold value so that the array is not powered in stop-and-go traffic. A brake position sensor senses a position of the vehicle brake pedal and an accelerometer measures deceleration of the vehicle, so that the master controller receives signals corresponding to the instantaneous speed of the vehicle, a signal corresponding to the position of the brake pedal and a signal corresponding to the deceleration of the road vehicle for properly warning a trailing drive of the braking condition of the road vehicle.12-18-2008

20080218612CAMERA USING MULTIPLE LENSES AND IMAGE SENSORS IN A RANGEFINDER CONFIGURATION TO PROVIDE A RANGE MAP - An electronic camera for producing an output image of a scene from a captured image signal includes a first imaging stage comprising a first image sensor for generating a first sensor output and a first lens for forming a first image of the scene on the first image sensor, and a second imaging stage comprising a second image sensor for generating a second sensor output and a second lens for forming a second image of the scene on the second image sensor, where the lenses have different focal lengths. A processing stage uses the sensor output from one of the imaging stages as the captured image signal and uses the images from both imaging stages to generate a range map identifying distances to the different portions of the scene.09-11-2008
20080292182NOISE REDUCED COLOR IMAGE USING PANCHROMATIC IMAGE - A method for producing a noise-reduced digital color image, includes providing an image having panchromatic pixels and color pixels corresponding to at least two color photoresponses; providing from the image a panchromatic image and at least one color image; and using the panchromatic image and the color image to produce the noise-reduced digital color image by setting a plurality of color characteristics equal to the corresponding panchromatic characteristics at each color pixel location.11-27-2008
20090051984IMAGE SENSOR HAVING CHECKERBOARD PATTERN - An image sensor for capturing a color image, comprising a two-dimensional array of pixels having a plurality of minimal repeating units wherein each repeating unit is composed of eight pixels having four panchromatic pixels, two pixels having the same color response, and two pixels having different color responses that are different than the pixels having the same color response, with the minimal repeating units tiled to cause each row or each column of the image sensor to have color pixels of a single color or to cause each row and each column to have color pixels of only two colors.02-26-2009
20100038317HEMOFILTRATION SYSTEM AND METHOD BASED ON MONITORED PATIENT PARAMETERS, SUPERVISORY CONTROL OF HEMOFILTRATION, AND ADAPTIVE CONTROL OF PUMPS FOR HEMOFILTRATION - A multipurpose hemofiltration system and method are disclosed for the removal of fluid and/or soluble waste from the blood of a patient. The system continuously monitors the flow rates of drained fluid, blood, and infusate. When necessary, the pumping rates of the infusate, drained fluid and blood are adjusted to remove a preselected amount of fluid from the blood in a preselected time period. A supervisory controller can monitor patient parameters, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and adjust the pumping rates accordingly. The supervisory controller uses fuzzy logic to make expert decisions, based upon a set of supervisory rules, to control each pumping rate to achieve a desired flow rate and to respond to fault conditions. An adaptive controller corrects temporal variations in the flow rate based upon an adaptive law and a control law.02-18-2010
20110096179METHOD FOR IMPROVED DIGITAL VIDEO IMAGE QUALITY - A method of producing a digital video with reduced motion blur or increased brightness, including capturing a digital video using an exposure time that reduces image blur; selecting a first series of sequential images from the digital video capture; combining pixel values of said images to produce a first intermediate image that is brighter than each of the selected sequential images; choosing and processing a reference image to create a second intermediate image that is less blurry than the first intermediate image; identifying moving regions among the selected sequential images; replacing pixel values of moving regions in the first intermediate image with corresponding pixel values from the second intermediate image to produce a first digital video image having reduced motion blur or increased brightness; and repeating these steps for a second series of sequential images that includes at least one image from the first series of sequential images.04-28-2011

20080316535AUTOMATIC ROTATED ROW PLACEMENT IN MULTIUP IMPOSITION - A system and method for automatically placing a rotated row in a multi-up imposition. Calculations can be performed, which are required to execute an automated multi-up imposition. The dimensions of the input document can be then evaluated against the available area in the imposed layout to determine whether there is sufficient space to add a rotated row to the layout (e.g., the “Dutch Row” in Dutch imposition). If it is determined that there is sufficient space for a rotated row, a rotated page row can then be added to the imposed layout.12-25-2008

20080199096Method and system for the selective application of automatic image enhancement to digital images - A method and system for selective application of AIE (Automatic Image Enhancement) based on the characteristic of an image. The image can be evaluated utilizing PDL data, object location data, image layering data, image overprint data and image raster data in combination with a weighting scheme to ascertain whether the image should be designated as a background or watermark. The designated images can be passed through a tag to a DFE (Digital Front End) application in order to determine the application of AIE to the images.08-21-2008

20110119635SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCING MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVENESS - Provided is a computerized system and method of organizing and navigating through a management system in a hierarchal visualization structure. The elements of the management system are represented in cells in the form of a periodic table. The elements are classified and organized into one or more sets of groups stored at a first hierarchal level. Each cell displays general identification information regarding an element stored at a second hierarchal level including a textual abbreviation representing the element. Details regarding each element stored at third hierarchal level are displayed when one of the cells is selected. More specific information regarding each detail stored at a fourth hierarchal level is displayed when a detail is selected.05-19-2011
