20080229236Non-linear navigation in discussion forums - Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with providing non-linear navigation in a discussion forum are described. One method embodiment includes maintaining a location data that identifies a thread or message to which a user has navigated. The method also includes manipulating a navigation control in a graphical user interface based on actions taken by the user and/or other users of the system. The navigation control facilitates a user moving to points not traditionally reachable in a single vertical navigation step in a discussion forum interface.09-18-2008
20100161645Change management - Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with artifact type neutral change management are described. One example method includes maintaining an access table for each artifact in a collaborative software environment that records a most recent access of an artifact on a per user basis. An artifact type registration table is also maintained that maps each artifact type to the access table that records access information for artifacts of the given type and to a data store that stores artifacts of that type. For a given user, artifact pair, queries on the type registration table, access table, and data store are generated to return the last modification time for the artifact and the user's last access time for the artifact. This information is used to determine a change status of the artifact for the given user. This common framework can be used for artifacts of any type that are registered in the type registration table.06-24-2010
20100217804Collaborative draft forum-messages - Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with collaborative draft forum-messages are described. One example method includes receiving draft forum-message data from a drafter. The draft forum-message data may identify a set of entities to whom the drafter seeks to grant edit privileges. The example method may also include providing a portion of the draft forum-message data to one of the identified entities and allowing them to view and/or modify the draft forum-message data.08-26-2010

20090220427Drug Resistance and Methods of Reversing - Described herein is a cellular marker, MyD88, useful for assessing an individual's (patient's) sensitivity (or resistance) to chemotherapy, particularly sensitivity (or resistance) to chemotherapeutic drugs, such as plant alkaloids (e.g., a taxane, such as paclitaxel or docetaxel). As described herein, Applicants provide a method by which it is possible to determine whether an individual (cancer cells in an individual) is sensitive to chemotherapy with plant alkaloids (e.g., a taxane, such as paclitaxel or docetaxel). Early identification of chemoresistance in patients with cancer is of utmost importance, particularly since it makes it possible to provide the most appropriate therapy.09-03-2009
20100311047Identification Of Cancer Protein Biomarkers Using Proteomic Techniques - The claimed invention describes methods to diagnose or aid in the diagnosis of cancer. The claimed methods are based on the identification of biomarkers which are particularly well suited to discriminate between cancer subjects and healthy subjects. These biomarkers were identified using a unique and novel screening method described herein. The biomarkers identified herein can also be used in the prognosis and monitoring of cancer. The invention comprises the use of leptin, prolactin, OPN and IGF-II for diagnosing, prognosis and monitoring of ovarian cancer.12-09-2010

20100173341APOPTOSIS-BASED EVALUATION OF CHEMOSENSITIVITY IN CANCER PATIENTS - Induction of apoptosis in target cells is a key mechanism by which chemotherapy induces cell killing. An in vitro system has been established for determining carboplatin and paclitaxel (Taxol) chemosensitivity of epithelial ovarian cancer cells, where measurements of caspase-3 activation are surrogate markers for activation of chemotherapy-induced programmed cell death. To validate the assay as a predictor of clinical chemotherapy-induced programmed cell death. To validate the assay as a predictor of clinical chemosensitivity in vitro apoptotic response were compared to the clinical response of the patients from whom the tumor cells were isolated. Caspase-3 activation in response to in vitro chemotherapy to both drugs was shown to have an 83% positive predictive value and a 71% negative predictive value. Markers of apoptosis such as caspase-3 activation can be quantitated and utilized to predict the clinical response to chemotherapy.07-08-2010
