20100014420Lightweight Application Classification for Network Management - Managing network traffic to improve availability of network services by classifying network traffic flows using flow-level statistical information and machine learning estimation, based on a measurement of at least one of relevance and goodness of network features. Also, determining a network traffic profile representing applications associated with the classified network traffic flows, and managing network traffic using the network traffic profile. The flow-level statistical information includes packet-trace information and is available from at least one of Cisco NetFlow, NetStream or cflowd records. The classification of network flows includes tagging packet-trace flow record data based on defined packet content information. The classifying of network flows can result in the identification of a plurality of clusters based on the measurement of the relevance of the network features. Also, the classification of network traffic can use a correlation-based measure to determine the goodness of the network features.01-21-2010

20100229179SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SCHEDULING THREAD EXECUTION - A method is described that comprises suspending a currently executing thread at a periodic time interval, calculating a next time slot during which the currently executing thread is to resume execution, appending the suspended thread to a queue of threads scheduled for execution at the calculated time slot, and updating an index value of a pointer index to a next sequential non-empty time slot, where the pointer index references time slots within an array of time slots, and where each of the plurality of time slots corresponds to a timeslice during which CPU resources are allocated to a particular thread. The method further comprises removing any contents of the indexed non-empty time slot and appending the removed contents to an array of threads requesting immediate CPU resource allocation and activating the thread at the top of the array of threads requesting immediate CPU resource allocation as a currently running thread.09-09-2010

20090036227ADJUSTABLE MECHANISM FOR ATTACHING TWO SHAFTS - An adjustable mechanism including at least two shafts, one of which is hollow, including: a spring attached to a first shaft; the spring having an outer diameter of similar dimensions to the internal diameter of the second shaft, the spring configured such that once force is applied to the spring, its outer diameter is less than the inner diameter of the second shaft; and when force is no longer applied to the spring it is biased to return to its original outer diameter to bear against the inner diameter of the second shaft.02-05-2009
20090169330THREADED FASTENER SHAFT HAVING A DEFORMABLE THREADED PORTION - A fastening mechanism including a shaft, wherein the shaft is effectively threaded; the shaft includes a threaded non-deformable material interspersed with at least one portion of a threaded deformable material.07-02-2009
20090297262FRICTION CLAMP - A clamping mechanism including: a deformable body configured to provide a friction fit with at least one element to which it is fitted, at least one slot in the deformable body, wherein the slot traverses at least a portion of the longitudinal and latitudinal direction of the body.12-03-2009
20090304443BOLT WITH COLLAR AND FLEXIBLE SLEEVE INSERT - A fastening device for cooperating with a shaft, wherein the fastening device includes: a deformable sleeve, and a locking collar, the deformable sleeve is configured to have a perimeter relative to the shaft such that the deformable sleeve can be pushed over the shaft, and the locking collar is configured to push over the sleeve so as to bear against a surface of the sleeve and to cause the fastening device to engage with the shaft.12-10-2009
20100143069FRICTION MECHANISM - A fastening mechanism including: a head a shaft fixed to one end of the head wherein at least part of the shaft is effectively threaded, and at least part of the shaft has no anchoring base for the thread, wherein at least part of the shaft and at least part of the thread are together formed from at least one unbroken wound spiral.06-10-2010
20110123265Adjustable Connector - According to one aspect of the present invention there is provided an adjustable connector including at least two parts, each having a main body with a bore having a longitudinal axis therein, wherein an external surface of the main body of a first part is configured to bear against an internal surface of the bore of a second part when the first part is at least partially inserted into the bore of the second part to form a connection, characterised in that the positioning of the bores with respect to the main bodies is such that when the parts are connected to each other, rotation of one part with respect to the other changes the inclination of the longitudinal axes of the bores with respect to one another.05-26-2011
