20090052873RECORDING/PLAYBACK TERMINAL - In a recording/playback terminal used for recording, on a recording medium, a plurality of target contents sent from a content server in which a plurality of contents are accumulatively stored such that each of the target contents is stored in a compressed state, a capacity determining section for determining a compression mode of each of the target contents to be recorded so that all the target contents can fit on the recording medium is provided. A content obtaining section for obtaining, from the content server, the target contents each of which is compressed in the compression mode determined by the capacity determining section is further provided. The target contents obtained by the content obtaining section are recorded on a recording medium.02-26-2009
20090109810RECORDING/REPRODUCTION APPARATUS - A recording/reproduction apparatus includes a first recording medium (a flash memory) having a first time that is required for the first recording medium to go from a low-power consumption state to a state in which recorded video data can be read out, and a second recording medium (an HDD or a DVD drive) having a second time that is required for the second recording medium to go from a low-power consumption state to a state in which recorded video data can be read out, where the second time is longer than the first time. When a video content is reproduced from the second recording medium in the low-power consumption state, the first recording medium is caused to go to a readable state while the second recording medium is not in a readable state, and a leading portion of the content is reproduced from the first recording medium. Thereby, a start-up time of the second recording medium that is required until reproduction is permitted is concealed from the user, and the user's reproduction request is immediately responded.04-30-2009

20090068437Sheet for Total Heat Exchanger - A liquid containing a hydrophilic polymer is applied by spreading or impregnation to a porous sheet comprising paper or a nonwoven fabric containing not less than 30% by weight and not more than 100% by weight of hydrophilic fiber to provide a hydrophilic polymer-processed sheet of which the surface and/or the interior of the porous sheet is filled with the hydrophilic polymer, which is made insoluble to water. This sheet is used as a sheet for a total heat exchanger which has higher conductivity of sensible heat and latent heat than conventional sheet for a total heat exchanger that uses a moisture permeable membrane.03-12-2009

20080284805PRINTER AND PRINTING METHOD - A printer including a feeding unit configured to perform repeated feeding of a medium for a predetermined feeding distance in a predetermined feeding direction, a print head configured to print on a printing surface of the medium in a printing zone set each time the feeding unit performs a feeding of the medium for the feeding distance, and a printing pass setting unit configured to set the printing zone containing a plurality of printing passes. The printing pass setting unit sets the printing passes such that boundaries between the printing passes extend diagonally relative to a width direction of the medium that is perpendicular to the feeding direction. The printing pass setting unit can set the printing passes such that the boundaries between the printing passes extend in waveform in the width direction with oscillation of the waveform being in the feeding direction.11-20-2008

20090031558MOUNTING APPARATUS MOUNTING SURFACE-MOUNTED DEVICE ON RECEIVING DEVICE USING ULTRASONIC VIBRATION - A mounting apparatus applies ultrasonic vibration exactly to a junction between a SMD and a SMD receiving device and maintains the junction at the suitable temperature, in simple construction in ultrasonic bonding of the SMD and the SMD receiving device held by holding unit. This includes SMD holding unit, SMD receiving device holding unit, moving unit moving at least one of the SMD holding unit and SMD receiving device holding units to contact each other, vibration generating unit applying ultrasonic vibration to the a contact portion between the SMD and the SMD receiving device, pressing unit applying an bias force between the SMD and SMD receiving device, heating unit arranged movably so as to surround in a noncontact manner a portion of the SMD holding unit near the SMD and heating the SMD holding unit, and interlocking unit interlocking the heating unit with the SMD holding unit.02-05-2009
20090255979ULTRASONIC MOUNTING APPARATUS - In an ultrasonic mounting apparatus, a pressing shaft coupled with a voice coil motor to apply a load on a part to be mounted is placed independently from components including a bonding tool, ultrasonic horn, transducer, and horn support member. The components can move coaxially with the pressing shaft which is an application axis of a driving force. Abutting position of the bonding tool and pressing shaft is brought into coincidence with a node of a standing wave generated in the bonding tool.10-15-2009
