20150096540 | VARIABLE COMPRESSION RATIO ENGINE - According to the present invention, a variable compression ratio engine includes a cylinder head and crankcase directly joined by a control shaft, thereby eliminating use of a link between the control shaft and cylinder head. The present invention has a low manufacturing cost and a small size ideal for mass production applications. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the control shaft includes a primary set of bearings and an eccentric set of bearings. The primary control shaft set of bearings are mounted directly in the crankcase assembly, and the eccentric control shaft bearings are mounted directly in the cylinder head assembly. There is only one control shaft per cylinder head, and there is no link between the control shaft and cylinder head assembly. The variable compression ratio mechanism also includes moment retaining means to prevent the cylinder head assembly from rotating out of alignment when the engine is running. The moment retaining means is a bushing that is mounted around the engine cylinder. The bushing provides the moment retaining means needed for holding the cylinder head assembly in alignment when the engine is running, and also provides displacement means, where the cylinder head assembly can slide on the bushing. The displacement means is needed to allow the cylinder head assembly to move relative to the crankcase when compression ratio is adjusted. | 04-09-2015 |

20140113259 | System and Method for Reliable, Adaptive, and Objective Skills Based Testing - Described herein is method and system for electronic skill-based testing. A computing device, which may be a cloud server, provides a live environment to the test-taker with some issues that must be resolved. The attempts of the test-taker to resolve the issue are scored according to the efficiency and speed of the test-taker's approach, success or failure of the test-taker to resolve the issue, and by reference to the difficulty level of the task and the relative degree of achievement of other test takers. | 04-24-2014 |

20150050972 | DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR MONITORING, CLASSIFYING, AND ENCOURAGING ACTIVITY - Devices, methods, and systems for monitoring, classifying and encouraging activity through the use of an accelerometer or other sensor in a toy or other accessory (such as a backpack or watch) that records activity are disclosed. The activity is classified, using various motion classification algorithms, to determine the specific types and amount of activities performed and the times and duration for which they were performed. The classified data is used in the rest of the system, which allows users to view activity history, recommendations for how to improve health, and play games in which the player's game performance is effected by their activity levels. In games and on the website, feedback is also given to users to encourage and reward exercise, while handicapping users that are not active. | 02-19-2015 |

20140075419 | Sequentially Constructive Model of Computation - System and method for validating a program under a specified model of computation. The model of computation may be related to the synchronous statechart model of computation. A program may be received that specifies a plurality of operations using a variable within a logical tick such that the variable has multiple values within the logical tick. The program may be statically analyzed according to a specified model of computation that specifies program execution based on logical ticks, which may include determining that the program has deterministic semantics that specify deterministic results for each logical tick during execution of the program, including specifying deterministic results of the plurality of operations performed within the logical tick. The program may be validated in accordance with the specified model of computation in response to the determining. Such techniques may allow validation of a larger set of programs than conventional models while maintaining deterministic results. | 03-13-2014 |
