20120311329SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SECURE INSTANT MESSAGING - A system and method for secure instant messaging are described. For example, in one embodiment, a first user identifies a second user for an instant messaging session with the ID code of the second user. The first user is provided with network information for the second user and a public key associated with the second user. The first user encrypts an instant message using the public key of the second user and a private key. In one embodiment, the first user encrypts the content of the instant message (e.g., any text and/or attachments) using the public key of the second user and signs the content using the private key of the first user. The encrypted message is transmitted from the first user to the second user. The second user decrypts the instant message using the second user's private key and verifies the signature with the first user's public key.12-06-2012
20120311686SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SECURE IDENTITY SERVICE - A system and method for securely processing identity information. For example, in one embodiment of the invention, a first user is registered on an identity service with one or more identification (ID) codes and a token. In response to a query from a second user to connect with the first user, a query signature is generated using the one or more ID codes and token of the first and second users, and a timestamp. The query signature is usable by network services to authenticate communication between the first and second users on the network over a specified period of time. In another embodiment, user ID codes and tokens are cached on mobile devices and/or a system cache to improve performance. The validity of the cached data is determined by calculating a fingerprint which, in one embodiment, is a hash of the ID code, token and a timestamp.12-06-2012

20120123546IMPLANT APPARATUS FOR SPINAL FUSION - An implant apparatus and a method for spinal fusion from oblique, lateral, ALIF, PLIF, and TLIF approach are disclosed. The apparatus can be configured to include an expandable implant cage and an inserter. The cage can be inserted between endplates of upper and lower vertebra using lateral, ALIF, PLIF, and TLIF approach. The cage generally includes a male and female screw configuration and a cage expansion mechanism. The inserter inserts the cage in a spinal disc space and tightens the male and female screw arrangement. Once the cage is inserted to the desired position, viewed by X-ray you will begin to tighten the male portion of the screw in the device, and continue to tighten until final deployment of cage has been achieved. This provides a much greater footprint that allows the device to reach the cortical ring or apophyseal ring of the vertebral body. Tightening of male and female screw arrangement operates the cage expansion mechanism to expand the cage size. The cage can be inserted through a smaller surgical opening and then expanded to a full size assembly between the vertebrae.05-17-2012

20110127769PIPE COUPLER - A pipe coupler for physically connecting and forming a pressurized seal between two sections of pipe. The pipe coupler comprises a body having a through hole, the through hole defining an inner surface of the body. Two contact seals are installed onto two sealing grooves, respectively, located around a circumference of the inner surface. Each of the two pipe sections are inserted into the through hole from opposing ends of the body and are secured to the pipe coupler using retaining fasteners through apertures located through the body. The contact seals form a pressurized seal between the outside surface of the pipes and the inner surface of the body, thereby creating a mechanical and pressurized coupling between the two pipes.06-02-2011
20110220214Counter-Biased Valve and Actuator Assembly - A valve actuator assembly, counter-biased by a working fluid (or gas) pressure, is disclosed. The valve actuator assembly comprises a valve and a pneumatic or hydraulic actuator. A port is defined axially through the valve and actuator that communicates a working fluid (or gas) pressure acting on the valve face to a counter-biasing chamber inside an actuator housing. This design eliminates, reduces, or overcomes a force acting on a face of the valve by communicating a common working pressure of the fluid (or gas) to a substrate on the actuator with a resultant force vector opposite the valve face.09-15-2011
20120198837TURBOCHARGER CONTROL STRATEGY TO INCREASE EXHAUST MANIFOLD PRESSURE - A system for controlling an exhaust driven turbocharging system includes a turbocharger having an exhaust inlet, a discharge outlet, a compressor air inlet, and a compressor outlet, a compressor bypass valve having a control port, an inlet port, a discharge port, and a valve for opening and closing the discharge port, and an engine having an air inlet and an exhaust outlet, and may include a wastegate. In the system the compressor outlet of the turbocharger is connected to the air inlet of the engine and is connected to the inlet port of the compressor bypass valve. By controlling the compressor bypass valve and the wastegate higher turbine inlet pressures can be generated for use in other areas of the system. This is achieved by opening the compressor bypass valve in an unconventional area of the internal combustion engine's range where it would normally remain closed.08-09-2012

20100105160Techniques for Glass Attachment in an Image Sensor Package - A low-cost wafer-level packaging (WLP) method for attaching glass to optical image-sensor devices on a semiconductor wafer in order to increase the yield of image-sensor modules during later steps of assembly. One embodiment relates to applications with image-sensors (and microlenses) fabricated on a wafer. A glass wafer is singulated, aligned to mirror the die pattern on an image-sensor wafer, and then bonded to the image-sensor wafer such that optical adhesive forms a layer between the each image-sensor and its glass cover. Another embodiment applies cavity walls to singulated glass covers, which are then attached to image sensors which may be formed on a single wafer. The wafer can then be singulated and a plurality of image sensor packages is formed.04-29-2010
