Synchronizers coaxially mounted to a shaft are coupled to a gear of at least one gear pair and adapted to be actuated to engage the gear with the shaft. Forks that actuate the synchronizers are movably mounted and have corresponding catches. A single control shaft is rotationally mounted about and can be slid axially along a longitudinal axis.
