20090187669 | System and method for reducing traffic and congestion on distributed interactive simulation networks - A system and method are provided for communicating Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) traffic over a network in an accelerated manner. In one embodiment, DIS traffic is accelerated through use of accelerated DIS packets having a reduced size. In this manner, network traffic is reduced. Accelerated DIS packets may be created and communicated through one or more DIS accelerators. A first DIS accelerator may accept a DIS packet and create an accelerated DIS packet therefrom by comparing the DIS packet to a cache and forming an accelerated DIS packet comprising the differences between the DIS packet and the cache. Data in the original DIS packet may be subsequently restored by a second DIS accelerator which combines the information in the accelerated DIS packet and the cache to restore the original DIS packet. Accelerated DIS packets may be communicated over an encoded communication channel in one or more embodiments. | 07-23-2009 |
20110296051 | ROUTE AWARE NETWORK LINK ACCELERATION - A method and apparatus for route aware network link acceleration provides a managed communication channel for accelerated and reliable network communication between a client and other network devices as needed. The communication channel may comprise one or more segments having increased speed, reliability, security, or other improved characteristics as compared to traditional communication links. Network traffic may be routed through one or more of the segments based on various criteria to improve communication of the traffic. In one embodiment, the segments may be arranged in a daisy chain configuration and be provided by one or more chaining nodes. | 12-01-2011 |
20120252576 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REMOTE GAME DISPLAY - Various embodiment provide a method of interfacing an application controller with a remote display. The method can include the steps of providing an application on an application controller comprising a controller display; executing the application to retrieve a user input into the application controller; executing logic to render an output; and displaying the output on at least one of the controller display and the remote display. | 10-04-2012 |
20120277000 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MEDIA CONTROL - Various embodiments provide a motion-based media control system comprising a motion-based controller comprising a motion sensor; a media center comprising a display; a network in communication with the media center and a server; a network in communication with the motion-based controller and the server; and an application configured to execute on the motion-based controller and to capture movement coordinates from the motion sensor of the motion-based controller, and to send the movement coordinates to the server. Various embodiments provide an optical-based media control system comprising an optical-based controller comprising a touch screen and an image sensor on a surface opposite of the touch screen. | 11-01-2012 |
20140074981 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING APPLICATION FUNCTIONALITY WITHIN A NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE - A system and method for implementing functionality within a network on behalf of first and second devices communicating with each other through the network. A front-end device is provided within the network that communicates data traffic with the first device. A back-end device is also implemented within the network and communicates data traffic with the second device. A communication channel couples the front-end device and the back-end device. Data traffic may be encoded into a different type or protocol for transport through the communication channel by the front-end device and back-end device. The front-end device and back-end device exchange quality of service information and may alter characteristics of the data traffic through the communication channel according to the quality of service information. | 03-13-2014 |
20140143442 | ROUTE AWARE NETWORK LINK ACCELERATION - A method and apparatus for route aware network link acceleration provides a managed communication channel for accelerated and reliable network communication between a client and other network devices as needed. | 05-22-2014 |
20140289381 | OPTIMIZATION OF ENHANCED NETWORK LINKS - A method and apparatus for dynamic network link acceleration provides a managed communication link for accelerated and reliable network communication between a client and other network devices. In one or more embodiments, a client computing device which generates communication packets of a first type is enhanced with a front end mechanism which selectively encodes the data packets into packets of a second type. The data packets which are encoded into a second type are transmitted over a managed communication link which may provide error correction, security, quality of service, and other services including acceleration of communications. | 09-25-2014 |
20140317309 | SYSTEM AND DEVICES FACILITATING DYNAMIC NETWORK LINK ACCELERATION - A peer to peer dynamic network acceleration method and apparatus provide enhanced communications directly between two or more enhanced devices, such as enhanced clients. The enhanced clients may comprise a front-end, a back-end, or both. In general, the front-end and back-end of the enhanced clients work in concert to translate data into an enhanced protocol for communication between the enhanced clients. The enhanced protocol may provide acceleration, security, error correction, and other benefits. Data from various applications may be seamlessly translated between a first protocol and the enhanced protocol, such that the applications need not be modified to use the enhanced protocol. The enhanced clients may automatically detect one another to establish an enhanced communications channel automatically. | 10-23-2014 |
20150019753 | DATA REDIRECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREFOR - A data redirection system and method comprises a first and second redirector in one or more embodiments. The first redirector may receive and respond to requests for a network service by redirecting a client's request to the second redirector. The second redirector may receive and respond to the redirected request by sending a network address of a gateway. The gateway may provide an enhanced communication link with a network resource providing the network service. In this manner, communications used to provide the network service may be redirected to the enhanced communication link. The requests for a network service and responses to the requests will typically be communicated over a standard communication link. | 01-15-2015 |
