20080264442METHOD OF CLEANING SUBSTRATES UTILIZING MEGASONIC ENERGY - A method of cleaning a substrate without causing damage to the substrate is provided. The method comprises the steps of providing a transmitter made of a material that is a good conductor of megasonic energy, positioning the transmitter so that a lower edge is positioned spaced from but closely adjacent to a substantially flat surface of the substrate so that when liquid is applied to the edge and the substrate, a meniscus of liquid is formed between the edge and the substrate, providing a transducer for producing megasonic vibration, coupling the transducer to the transmitter so that a transmission path is created to transmit the megasonic vibration into the transmitter, and creating a barrier in the transmission path so that the liquid vibration is attenuated directly beneath the lower edge of the transmitter.10-30-2008
20090165831SYSTEM FOR MEGASONIC PROCESSING OF AN ARTICLE - A system for megasonic processing of an article. In one aspect, the system for megasonic processing comprises a rotary support for supporting an article, a dispenser for applying a fluid to a surface of an article positioned on the rotary support; and a transducer assembly. The transducer assembly comprises (i) a transmitter positioned adjacent to the article on the rotary support so that when the fluid is applied to the surface of the article via the dispenser, a meniscus of the fluid is formed between a portion of the transmitter and the surface of the article and (ii) not more than one transducer coupled to the transmitter, the transducer adapted to oscillate at a frequency for propagating megasonic energy through the transmitter and into the meniscus of the fluid.07-02-2009

20090057341LIQUID CONCENTRATE/EXTRACT BEVERAGE DISPENSER WITH REPLACEABLE CONCENTRATE/EXTRACT CARTRIDGE - A concentrate/extract cartridge for dispensing a liquid concentrate/extract is provided. The cartridge includes a hollow body and a dispensing tube that contains a pumping device. The cartridge includes a valve having a valve stem that passes through a port of a valve seat connected to the dispensing tube. A piston is located at a first end of the valve stem and a valve body is located at a second end of the valve stem in removable contact with the valve seat for alternately opening and closing the port. The piston can also includes a membrane positioned on a side facing the valve stem configured to permit a flow of fluid into the dispensing tube when the valve body is in contact with the valve seat and to permit the fluid to be forcibly expressed from the dispensing tube when the valve body is moved from its contact position. A liquid dispenser suitable for numerous applications, having a removably insertable concentrate/extract cartridge and a method of dispensing a liquid are also provided.03-05-2009
20100089944REPLACEABLE CONCENTRATE/EXTRACT CARTRIDGE FOR A LIQUID CONCENTRATE/EXTRACT BEVERAGE DISPENSER - A concentrate/extract cartridge for a beverage dispenser adapted to dispense a liquid concentrate/extract and a diluent is provided. The cartridge includes a hollow body for containing liquid concentrate/extract and an aperture. A pumping device is connected to the hollow body for dispensing the liquid concentrate/extract from the hollow body through the aperture. A method for dispensing a liquid concentrate/extract from a beverage dispenser using a concentrate/extract cartridge is also provided in which the concentrate/extract does not come into contact with the dispenser.04-15-2010
