20080281064Novel Glycopolymers, Uses Thereof, and Monomers Useful for Preparation Thereof - Novel glycopolymers, uses thereof, and monomers useful for preparation thereof are provided. Methods for preparing novel monomers and glycopolymers are also provided. An exemplary polymer can include glycoside containing units and cationic or potentially cationic units.11-13-2008
20090242833Self-situating stimuli-responsive polymer compositions in soil additives and methods for use - Disclosed are soil additives comprised of self-situating, stimuli-responsive polymer compositions and methods of their use. In one embodiment, the polymer composition or polymer network comprises permanent cross-links and non-permanent cross-links, wherein the non-permanent cross-links are capable of being removed upon application or exposure to a stimulus, typically located within the soil. In another embodiment, the method of increasing water retention in soils includes applying a soil additive, comprising polymer networks of the present invention admixed with an aqueous solution to form a colloidal dispersion solution or suspension, to a soil surface. The suspension or colloidal dispersion solution facilitates penetration of the polymer composition through the soil surface and into the soil, migrating typically to lower water potential areas and, more typically, along drainage channels located within the soil. After penetration of the soil surface, the polymer network is then exposed to a stimulus, typically present in the soil, whereby the non-permanent cross-links are removed and the polymer composition undergoes a volumetric change. This results in the prevention, arrest or decelerated loss of water from the targeted area, for example the plant root zone, which allows for improved water usage efficiency by plants, grasses, vegetation, etc.10-01-2009
20090281001Drilling Fluids Comprising Hydroxylated Polymers - Drilling fluids comprising polymers containing hydroxylated structural units are useful as accretion inhibiting agents, and/or as fluid rheology controlling agents, and/or as filtrate reducing agents, and/or as lubricating agents.11-12-2009
20100093874COPOLYMER INCLUDING BETAINE UNITS AND HYDROPHOBIC AND/OR AMPHIPHILIC UNITS, METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME AND USES THEREOF - The invention relates to a copolymer including betaininc units and hydrophobic and/or amphiphile units. The invention also relates to a method for preparing a copolymer including betaininc units and hydrophobic and/or amphiphile units, by controlled micellar polymerisation. The invention further relates to the uses of the copolymer. The copolymer is particularly used for increasing the viscosity of saline aqueous compositions.04-15-2010
20100210724Method for modifying the properties of an aqueous suspension - A method for modifying the properties of a suspension of solid or liquid particles in an aqueous medium, includes the step of adding to the suspension or to the aqueous medium a polymer prepared by inverse emulsion polymerization of monomers A08-19-2010
20100273994HYBRID COMPOUNDS CONTAINING POLYSACCHARIDE(S) AND AT LEAST ONE POLYOXYALKYLENE, METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF - The invention relates to novel hybrid compounds containing at least one polysaccharide entity (PS), such as guar, in which at least one hydroxyl function is substituted by at least one A polyoxyalkylene entity (PEG). The swivel Ro between the entity PS and the entity A is obtained by click chemistry and has the following formula (II.1) or (II.2), in which Z is a carbon or nitrogen atom. These hybrid compounds can be used as emulsifiers, particularly in cosmetics.10-28-2010
20110003936Soil hydrophilization agent and methods for use - Disclosed are soil additives capable of hydrophilizing soil particles and/or increase available water capacity in soil. The soil additive are capable of increasing the available water content/capacity (AWC) in soils, the additive in one embodiment comprising a polymer composition having a hydrophilic portion and a hydrophobic portion, wherein the hydrophobic portion of the copolymer binds with the soil particle surface and the hydrophilic portion of the copolymer can bind with water. This results in the prevention, arrest or decelerated loss of water from the targeted area, for example the plant root zone, which allows for improved water usage efficiency by plants, grasses, vegetation, etc.01-06-2011
20110100631FLOODING FLUID AND ENHANCING OIL RECOVERY METHOD - The invention relates to an enhancing oil recovery method by injecting into a subterranean oil formation an aqueous flooding fluid comprising at least one injecting galactomannan polymer substituted by at least one sulfonation agent. The invention also relates to an flooding fluid having better injectivity properties than existing flooding fluids.05-05-2011
20110137001COPOLYMER FOR IMPROVED DRYING - The invention relates to a novel copolymer containing vinyl-pyrrolidone units. The copolymer further includes units of the betaine type. The invention further relates to the use of the copolymer in compositions for drying dishes, said polymer particularly improving the drying thereof.06-09-2011
