20080251084 | OVERHEAD ACTIVITY HEAD-AND-NECK SUPPORT COLLAR - A head-and-neck support collar is provided that supports the cervical region of the spine and the base of the skull when the head is in a tilted-back position. The collar is designed to reduce head-and-neck stress, strain and pain during physical activities that require the wearer to look upwards, especially for extended periods of time. The collar includes an elongated neck cushion that is positioned behind the neck of the user. A harness is attached to either end of the elongated neck cushion and is routed over the shoulders, under the arms and across the back. A two part quick release mechanism is provided between the harness and each end of the cushion to facilitate quick and complete release of the cushion from the harness. This quick release mechanism is preferably a hook and loop type fastener. | 10-16-2008 |

20130115427 | MOLDING A PLASTIC ELEMENT HAVING AN INSERT - A method and apparatus for molding a plastic element having a body with a surface from which at least one rib extends and an insert at least partially arranged against the surface and under the rib. The method carried out by the apparatus includes the steps of: (a) installing the insert against a wall of an injection cavity, the wall having at least one slit extending at least partially opposite at least one part of the insert, the slit being adapted to form the rib of the plastic element; and (b) injecting molding material into the injection cavity to create the body and the rib of the plastic element. A support element is positioned in the slit, against the insert, to support said insert during the injection. | 05-09-2013 |

20130315886 | RETROELEMENTS AND MENTAL DISORDERS AND METHODS OF MEASURING L1 RETROTRANSPOSITION - A method of treating increased non-LTR retrotransposition in a cell. The method includes exposing a neural cell to a retrotransposition inhibitor in an amount sufficient to decrease the non-LTR retrotransposition in the neural cell or a progeny of the neural cell. In various embodiments, the non-LTR retrotransposition involves at least one L1 retrotransposon. Also provided is a method of assaying retrotransposition in neural cells. The method includes sorting synchronized neural cells of the same genetic background into single neural cells, and subjecting one or more of the sorted single neural cells to quantitative polymerase chain reaction amplification of at least one retrotransposon. In addition, a method of identifying an inhibitor of retrotransposition and a identifying a neural condition associated with non-LTR retrotransposition are provided. | 11-28-2013 |
