20110313757SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADVANCED GRAMMAR CHECKING - In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for a method of grammar checking, comprising providing a first level of grammar checking through a computer-based grammar checking facility to grammar check a body of text provided by a source in order to improve the grammatical correctness of the text; providing an excerpt of the body of text containing an identified grammatical error as a result of the first level of automated grammar checking to a second level of human augmented grammar checking consisting of at least one human proofreader for review; incorporating the results of the human proofreader review to contribute to an at least one corrected version of the provided body of text; and sending the at least one corrected version back the source. The method of grammar checking may provide for automatic grammar correction and text enrichment, such as when text is entered via a computer device with input limitations.12-22-2011

20100150325TELEPHONE COMMUNICATION METHOD AND SYSTEM - The invention concerns telecommunications methods and systems, and more particularly methods and systems for enabling respondents, who may be potential customers, to respond to advertisements for items (goods or services) advertised by or on behalf of advertisers. Telecommunications methods and systems of the invention provide selective communication routing or forwarding to advertisers of communications made to anonymous contact identifiers selected from a pool of anonymous contact identifiers, each anonymous contact identifier able to be allocated to an item to be advertised by or on behalf of the advertiser. The anonymous contact identifier is a public telephone number or an email address, for example. The service is provided by way of hosted system for use by a plurality of advertisers. The invention has particular application in the area of classified or personal advertising in printed or online publications, such as for real estate, automotive, travel or job advertising, for sale or auction item advertising, or for dating agency advertising.06-17-2010

20090013405Heuristic detection of malicious code - Scanning of computer files for malware uses a classifying technique to classify an input file as a clean file or a dirty file. The parameters of the classifying technique are derived to train the classification on a corpus of reference files including clean files known to be free of malware and dirty files known to contain malware. The classification is performed using a representation of the files in a feature space defined by a set of predetermined features for respective file formats, the features being a predetermined value or range of values for one or more data fields of given meanings. The representation of a file is derived by determining the file format, parsing the file on the basis of the structure of data fields in the determined file format to identify the data fields and their meaning, and determining, on the basis of the identified data fields, which of the set of predetermined features are present.01-08-2009
20090013408Detection of exploits in files - A scanning system for scanning computer files for exploits uses a database of validation rules, in respect of each of a plurality of file formats comprising data fields having a predetermined structure, the validation rules specifying valid structure and/or content for the data fields of the respective file format. Files are analysed to determine their file format. A validation process is performed comprising parsing the file to determine the structure and content of its data fields and validating the structure and/or content of the data fields of the file against the validation rules stored in the database in respect of the determined file format of the file. A file is determined to contain an exploit in response to the structure and/or content of the data fields of the file failing to be validated.01-08-2009

20100150138INTERCEPTING VOICE OVER IP COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER DATA COMMUNICATIONS - Methods and apparatus for intercepting communications in an Internet Protocol (IP) network involve maintaining dialing profiles for respective subscribers to the IP network, each dialing profile including a username associated with the corresponding subscriber, and associating intercept information with the dialing profile of a subscriber whose communications are to be monitored. Intercept information will include determination information for determining whether to intercept a communication involving the subscriber, and destination information identifying a device to which intercepted communications involving the subscriber are to be sent. When the determination information meets intercept criteria communications are established with a media relay through which communications involving the subscriber will be conducted or are being conducted to cause the media relay to send a copy of the communications involving the subscriber to a mediation device specified by the destination information.06-17-2010
20100172345EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE CALLING FOR VOICE OVER IP COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS - In accordance with one aspect of the invention there is provided a process for handling emergency calls from a caller in a voice over IP system. The process involves receiving a routing request message including a caller identifier and a callee identifier. The process also involves setting an emergency call flag active in response to the callee identifier matching an emergency call identifier pre-associated with the caller. The process further involves producing an emergency response center identifier in response to the emergency call identifier. The process also involves determining whether the caller identifier is associated with a pre-associated direct inward dialing (DID) identifier. The process further involves producing a direct inward dialing (DID) identifier for the caller by associating a temporary DID identifier with the caller identifier when the emergency call flag is active and it is determined that the caller has no pre-associated DID. The process also involves producing a routing message including the emergency response center identifier and the temporary DID identifier for receipt by a routing controller operable to cause a route to be established between the caller and the emergency response center.07-08-2010
20110122827MOBILE GATEWAY - A method of initiating a call to a callee using a mobile telephone involves: receiving, from a user of the mobile telephone, a callee identifier associated with the callee; transmitting an access code request message to an access server, said access code request message including said callee identifier; receiving an access code reply message from the access server in response to said access code request message, said access code reply message including an access code different from said callee identifier and associated with said callee identifier; and initiating a call with the mobile telephone using said access code to identify the callee.05-26-2011
