20080199436Polypeptides Having Brain-Localizing Activity and Uses Thereof - DNAs encoding polypeptides comprising random amino acid sequences were synthesized, and incorporated into a phage library. The phage library produced was used to screen for polypeptides having brain-localizing activity. As a result, several polypeptides having brain-localizing activity were obtained. These polypeptides comprise common sequences, and amino acid motif sequences involved in brain-localizing activity were successfully identified.08-21-2008
20090092583BRAIN-LOCALIZING CELLS AND USES THEREOF - It was discovered that cells expressing brain-localizing polypeptides on the cell surface can pass through the blood-brain barrier and therefore have the activity of translocating to the brain. By introducing desired substances into such brain-localizing cells, the substances can also be translocated to the brain. For example, by intravenously administering brain-localizing cells into which pharmaceutical agents having therapeutic effects on brain diseases have been introduced, such agents can be efficiently delivered into the brain and the brain diseases can be effectively treated.04-09-2009
20100111838BRAIN-LOCALIZING POLYPEPTIDES COMPRISING A MULTIVALENT BINDING MOIETY AND IMPROVED METABOLIC STABILITY - Brain-localizing polypeptides carrying a reactive group for linking to a molecule that does not have brain-localizing activity were successfully produced by introducing at least two lysine residues into cyclized polypeptides having a brain-localizing motif sequence. These polypeptides have improved metabolic stability compared to conventional brain-localizing polypeptides, and can efficiently translocate desired molecules into the brain.05-06-2010

20090043468CONTROLLING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE WITH CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION - A controlling system for a vehicle with a continuously variable transmission, which can render a sufficient accelerating feeling in responsive to a driver's requirement. A controller, upon judgment of an acceleration requirement, sets a target drive force higher than the target drive force upon normal calculation upon normal operation of an accelerator pedal, and sets a target rotation speed for acceleration higher than the target rotation speed upon the normal operation and increasing with an increase of the vehicle speed by a predetermined gradient. The speed change ratio of the continuously variable transmission and the output torque of the engine are controlled such that the set target drive force is achieved, and an input shaft rotation speed of the continuously variable transmission coincides with the target rotation speed for the set acceleration. Thus, upon acceleration requirement by the driver, the target drive force increases and the output rotation speed of the drive source increases so that the sufficiently high accelerating feeling from the vehicle can be obtained.02-12-2009
