20090208173FIBER CABLE TERMINATOR - A fiber cable assembly includes a cable formed from a bundle of fiber optic strands, a buffer encasing the bundle, and a terminator clamp coupled to an end of the cable over the buffer. The terminator clamp includes a first clamp portion and a second clamp portion. The first and second clamp portions each have an engaging surface for engaging the other of the first clamp portion and the second clamp portion. A channel is formed between the first clamp portion and the second clamp portion for receiving an end of the cable. The channel has a cross-sectional area that is less than a cross-sectional area of the cable. The end of the cable can be inserted into the first clamp portion and the second clamp portion can be secured to the first clamp portion to secure the clamp terminator to the cable. The cable is compressed within the channel to a reduced cross-sectional area.08-20-2009

20080267801Double action simplex diaphragm pump - A double-acting, simplex, fluid handling pump is designed to facilitate an optional configuration as either a plunger pump or a diaphragm pump. An injection molded plastic pump body comprises two bilaterally symmetrical halves that include internal pockets and grooves for clamping and retaining first and second generally identical valve assemblies at opposing end portions of the pump body. When configured as a plunger pump, first and second plunger are arranged to move 180 degrees out-of-phase with respect to one another within stationary guide sleeves that are clamped within the pump body where one plunger effecting a suction stroke while the other effects a compression stroke. When configured as a diaphragm pump, the plungers are removed from the connecting rods and replaced by diaphragms and a change is made in the valve casing employed but a majority of the remaining parts of the pump assembly remain unchanged from what is used in the plunger pump.10-30-2008
20100303649Double Action Simplex Pump - Embodiments of the invention provide a double action simplex pump including a pump body with a first half and a second half joined together to form an enclosed cavity. The first half includes a first pipe member and the second half includes a second pipe member. A first end of the first pipe member is a fluid inlet port and a second end of the second pipe member is a fluid outlet port. The enclosed cavity defines a first pocket and a second pocket each in fluid communication with a first lumen of the first pipe member and a second lumen of the second pipe member. A first valve assembly is positioned in the first pocket and a second valve assembly is positioned in the second pocket. Each of the first valve assembly and the second valve assembly includes a valve casing supporting an inlet poppet valve, an outlet poppet valve, and a central opening located between the inlet poppet valve and the outlet poppet valve. The central opening is aligned with one of a plunger and a diaphragm.12-02-2010

20120060581COMPRESSION TEST SYSTEMS AND METHODS - A system and method for determining the compressive strength of pellets are presently disclosed. A system includes a moveable feed tray adapted to support a plurality of pellets to be tested, a platen below the moveable feed tray and opposite a ram capable of applying compressive force to a pellet, a drive motor engaging the moveable feed tray, and a compressive force monitoring system including a force sensor. A method includes providing a feed tray and positioning a ram at a first position above a platen, advancing the feed tray to position a pellet at a test position between the ram and the platen, detecting the non-arrival of the pellet at the test position, retracting the ram from the first position, advancing the feed tray and operating the ram to determine the compressive strength of the pellet. Also disclosed is a calibration method for a compression test system.03-15-2012
