20110261367Integrated Confocal and Spectral-Domain Optical Coherence Tomography Microscope - Confocal microscopy and optical coherence tomography (OCT) are two components combined in a system using the same optical train that have significant potential applications, such as for real-time in situ view of tissue in a clinical setting. Preferably the two methods employ wavelength ranges that are different, and more preferably non-overlapping, allowing rapid switching between the two imaging techniques. The system illuminates multiple points of a sample and provides outputs indicative of sample properties at the multiple points simultaneously for confocal microscopy and OCT. When used in an endoscope, an optical fiber bundle inserted in an animal body is used to transmit light from the system to tissue and collect return light and deliver the return light for confocal microscopy and OCT imaging.10-27-2011

20080298249METHOD FOR SELECTION OF AN ASSOCIATION ACCESS POINT FOR A STATION IN A MESH NETWORK - A method for selection of the association access point for a station in an infrastructure mesh network based on received signal strength and one or more “association bias” weights received from neighboring access points. Each weight corresponds to a packet length category. In one embodiment, stations measure received signal strength for received signals and decode the association bias information field(s) and corresponding packet length category thresholds that are received in management frames such as beacons. Stations use this information to select an access point for association that will minimize the overall mesh resource utilization for the traffic (i.e. packet lengths) being transmitted. The method includes three elements: network assistance, access point actions, and station actions.12-04-2008
20090296674METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DENSITY DETERMINATIOIN IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK - Each node in a wireless communication network adds information in hello messages wherein the information comprises the number of hello messages received at the node from a plurality of nodes. Also, the nodes are configured to determine the node density based on additional information extracted from the received hello messages. For example, a first node in the wireless communication network receives a hello message from a second node, wherein the hello message comprises additional information indicating at least a number of hello messages received by the second node from a plurality of nodes in the wireless communication network. The first node extracts the additional information from the received hello message and based on the extracted additional information, the first node determines at least one channel performance metric. Based on the at least one channel performance metric the first node determines density of neighboring nodes in the wireless communication network.12-03-2009
20100046439ANTENNA-AWARE METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING PACKETS IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK - A method for transmitting packets in a wireless communication network includes taking into consideration an antenna mode prior to transmission. The method includes determining a transmit antenna mode for a transmission between the node and at least one other node; when the transmit antenna mode is omni-directional, broadcasting a transmission schedule for the transmission omni-directionally; and when the transmit antenna is beamforming directional, broadcasting a transmission schedule for the transmission directionally on one or more transmitter beams. The method optionally can also take into consideration an antenna mode of a receive antenna between the node.02-25-2010

20120132407HEAT EXCHANGER MANIFOLD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE - This invention provides an efficient counter flow heat exchanger of various rectangular, cylindrical or spiral shapes, having two flow channels or more and four inlet/outlet or more. Wherein flow channels have a plurality of passageways created by interposing a roll formed metallic between metallic rectangular sheets to form the flow channel or chamber. Rectangular and roll formed sheets sealingly joined by linking means, preferably but not necessarily by continuous linear spot welding or argon welding process.05-31-2012

20110126226System and method for distributing media content from multiple sources - A subscriber unit is provided and configured to receive an input media content feed of a media content program selection from a first source upon a determination that predetermined conditions exist. The subscriber unit may further be configured to receive an input media content feed of a media content program selection from a second source upon determining that certain predetermined conditions do not exist.05-26-2011
20110126234Media content distribution system and method - A system is provided that includes a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI includes a storefront that is associated with predetermined media content. The storefront is also linked to a predetermined source for the media content.05-26-2011
20110126249System and method for time shifting delivery of media content - A subscriber unit is provided to receive a streaming feed of the media selection from first source upon determining that a broadcast time of the program selection falls within a current broadcasting time slot. The subscriber unit is configured to receive a streaming feed of a media selection from a second source where it is determined that the media selection falls within a time slot that has already elapsed.05-26-2011
