| 20110276439 | Configuration Representation and Modeling Using Configuration Spaces - Configuration spaces facilitate the useful presentation of data, particularly configuration data used for representing configured products. Products include features and common features can be grouped by families. For example, an automobile can include a transmission family. The transmission family could include features such as automatic transmission and 4-speed manual transmission. Configuration spaces can be achieved by consolidating selected data without loosing useful information. The degree of consolidation achieved can be significant enough to permit display of data using conventional display technology. Configuration spaces break down the “universe” of possible configurations into constituent spaces defined by groups of rules for a selected feature. Common dependencies between the selected feature and related features can be consolidated to produce a more minimal form of the data used for representing the selected features and related features. Configuration spaces can provide a useful graphical view of the breakdown of all rules written for a single feature or multiple features. The data present in this view can be analyzed to, for example, study the dependency paths of an existing configuration and better understand the impact of revising configuration relationships. Thus, configuration spaces aid in the creation and modification of configuration models. | 11-10-2011 |

| 20100054314 | INITIALIZATION OF AND MODEM FOR AN OFDM DATA TRANSMISSION - A method and modem are provided for obtaining an optimized efficiency of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) data transmission, such as for power line communication, for example. The length or duration of a guard interval or cyclic prefix in an OFDM symbol is newly selected at each start-up of a modem while initializing or preparing the OFDM data transmission. The length of the guard interval can be given by the number of samples in a time-discrete representation, and the value of such number of samples that is retained for the subsequent data transmission can be selected from a plurality of pre-determined possibilities based on an evaluation of a channel quality of a communication channel including a physical line to which the modem is connected. Hence, the selected value depends on actual transmission conditions, and the optimization potential offered by a more flexible handling of system parameters is exploited to meet changing conditions on the physical line. | 03-04-2010 |

| 20100144539 | HIGH PRESSURE PARALLEL FIXED BED REACTOR AND METHOD - The present invention discloses an apparatus and method for rapid analysis of members of a combinatorial library. The apparatus includes a plurality of reactor vessels for containing individual library members, a fluid handling system that apportions a test fluid about equally between each of the vessels and a housing for enclosing the reactor vessels, the housing defining a pressure chamber, wherein the housing is configured to sustain a pressure substantially above atmospheric pressure. This allows for simultaneous screening of library members at high pressure by providing a small pressure differential on reactor components. The disclosed apparatus is especially useful for screening library members based on their ability to catalyze the conversion of fluid reactants. | 06-10-2010 |
