20110161874Analyzing objects from a graphical interface for standards verification - A method of analyzing graphical user interface (GUI) objects. The method can include dynamically scanning attributes assigned to various GUI objects assigned to a view of a GUI in order to identify attributes associated with each of the GUI objects. For each of the GUI objects, a list of attributes can be generated. A determination can be made as to whether at least one of the GUI objects has a list of attributes that does not correspond to lists of attributes for other GUI objects. When at least one GUI object has a list of attributes that does not correspond to lists of attributes for other GUI objects, an identifier can be output. The identifier can indicate that the GUI object has the list of attributes that does not correspond to the lists of attributes for the other GUI objects.06-30-2011

20090310961METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CALIBRATING BURST MODE LASER TRANSMITTERS - A method is provided to calibrate a monitor photodiode that measures the optical output power generated by an optoelectronic transceiver module that includes a burst mode laser diode. The method includes disabling the power control loop that controls an average optical output power generated by the laser diode during a laser burst. A series of logic zero signals is applied to a data input of the transceiver module and the logic zero level of the optical signal generated by the burst mode laser diode while applying the series of logic zero signals is measured. The logic zero bias level applied to the laser diode is adjusted until the measured logic zero level of the optical signal reaches a first desired value. While maintaining the optical signal at the first desired value, a first value of a current generated by the monitor photodiode in response to optical energy received from a back facet of the laser diode is stored. The first value of the current represents the calibrated value of the monitor current that will be measured when the laser generates a proper logic zero optical signal.12-17-2009

20100273991METHOD OF COVALENTLY MODIFYING PROTEINS WITH ORGANIC MOLECULES TO PREVENT AGGREGATION - A system and method for preventing protein aggregation is developed by covalent modification of proteins with organic molecules that can preserve the native protein folding. Proteins are covalently modified with sugar alcohols or cyclodextrins (organic Kosmotropes) or other small molecule drugs by water-driven bioorganic reactions in water. In the water-driven bioorganic reactions, the reagent is stable in water and can modify lysine residues or cysteine residue of a protein at physiological conditions with high yield and fast rate. Proteins and antibodies will be modified by non-natural sugar alcohols. As a result, the efficacy of protein drugs (reduction in aggregation and enzymatic degradation, and increase in blood stream life time) may be improved.10-28-2010

20080199950Enhanced Bio-Assays By Using Gradient Nanotopgraphy - ABSTRACT A system and method for using gradient nanotopography to increase mammalian cell attachment and cell confinement on surfaces. A surface platform consisting of a thin film of gold possessing a gradient of topography on the surface and self-assembled monolayers of alkanethiols presenting desired functional groups is formed. A gradient in the chemical properties is induced in the terminal groups of the monolayer because of the continuous increase in the surface area and the anisotropy of gold film structure. The gradient nanotopraphy provides simultaneous control of two key properties, the presentation of the terminal functional groups and a continuous increase in the surface density of functional groups on the surface. This control provides for drug screening assays using adherent cell-based experiments.08-21-2008
