20130064132IDENTIFYING A WIRELESS NETWORK DEVICE ACROSS FACTORY RESETS - Techniques are presented for discovering a previously configured network device. In one embodiment, a basic service set identification (BSSID) that uniquely identifies a network device (i.e., a router) is saved when the network device or a client device is configured. The stored BSSID indicates that the network device has previously been configured. After the network device is reset—i.e., one or more user-configurable settings return to their default settings—a client device may execute a setup application to reconfigure the network device. The setup application may compare the BSSID being broadcasted by the network device with the BSSID stored in the memory. If the BSSIDs match, the setup application may automatically select the network device without user input. Because the network device was previously configured, the setup application assumes that the user is attempting to reconfigure the network device after it has been reset.03-14-2013
20130067041AUTOMATIC DIFFERENTIATION OF SETUP TYPE IN ROUTER SETUP APPLICATION - Techniques are presented for configuring multiple client devices to connect to a network device (e.g., a wireless router). In one embodiment, a setup application executing on one of the client devices determines if the network device has previously been configured. For example, the network device may broadcast a predefined network name to advertise that a user access point has been configured. If the polling setup application detects the predefined network name, then it can skip any steps that would configure the network device. Accordingly, the setup application only configures the client device to connect to the network device.03-14-2013

20120317247CONFIGURING MULTIPLE NETWORK DEVICES IN A SETUP FLOW - A smart network may include a smart network host device as well as a smart network connector device, a smart network extender device and one or more client devices configured to connect to the smart network. An installation module is configured to connect to the smart network host device to determine whether a user is attempting to setup multiple network devices substantially simultaneously. The installation module then configures the multiple network devices based on the other network devices connected to the smart network host device. The installation module simplifies setup of the smart network by combining the configuration of multiple network devices into a single setup flow.12-13-2012
20130124715APPLET SYNCHRONIZATION ACROSS MULTIPLE ROUTERS - In one embodiment, a method is presented for determining which downloadable applets are exposed to a user of a computer when the computer is connected to a network. Included are the steps of detecting a change in the topology of a network, requesting from a router device topology information for the network, comparing the topology information against a requirements list associated with an application executing on the computing device, where the requirements list delineates at least one of a capability and a service necessary for the application to operate properly within a network, and determining whether the application is supported by the topology of the smart home network. If the application is supported, then the application is exposed, unless the application is not permitted to operate within the network. If the application is not supported or not permitted to operate within the network, then the application is not exposed.05-16-2013

20120064661CONTINUOUSLY OPTIMIZED SOLAR CELL METALLIZATION DESIGN THROUGH FEED-FORWARD PROCESS - An improved, lower cost method of processing substrates, such as to create solar cells, is disclosed. The doped regions are created on the substrate, using a mask or without the use of lithography or masks. After the implantation is complete, visual recognition is used to determine the exact region that was implanted. This information can then be used by subsequent process steps to crate a suitable metallization layer and provide alignment information. These techniques can also be used in other ion implanter applications. In another aspect, a dot pattern selective emitter is created, and imaging is used to determine the appropriate metallization layer.03-15-2012

20100184250SELF-ALIGNED SELECTIVE EMITTER FORMED BY COUNTERDOPING - An improved method of doping substrates, such as a solar cell, is disclosed. Conductors, such as metal lines, are often deposited on the surface of a substrate. In some embodiments, the conductivity of the substrate beneath the conductors is different than the conductivity of other regions of the substrate. Therefore, the conductors can serve as the mask for a subsequent blanket doping, which changes the conductivity of the surface of the substrate, except beneath the conductors. In some embodiments, an initial blanket doping is performed prior to the deposition of the conductors to create an initial uniformly doped region.07-22-2010
