20100009595DEVICE FOR ENHANCING SPORTING EVENT ON TELEVISION - A gaming device for enhancing sporting event on television including an assembled unit loaded with a number of pins/flags and a remote control through which the unit receives radio/infrared signals in order to actuate the device. A right arm of the figurine is connected to a stepper motor and can be placed on top of the assembled unit. When the user depresses the button on the remote control the stepper motor makes one revolution and the hand portion of the arm makes contact with the pin/flag and ejects the pin/flag out of the assembled unit in order to signal rule infractions associated with a game. The device simply gives users the satisfaction of calling their own penalties, and or counts the number of actual penalties in the game.01-14-2010

20100116266Solar Energy Collecting Apparatus - A solar energy collecting structure includes a focusing element that is axially aligned with and fixed in spaced relationship to an associated concave collector. Each concave collector is fixed at a distance equal to the focal length of the associated focusing element, for enabling focused solar energy to be received and collected over an entire temporal interval—without any need for tracking mechanisms. A solar energy collecting apparatus may be structured by employing a plurality of the solar energy collecting structures, in a tightly packed, juxtaposed (adjacent) relationship, with the focusing elements forming, at least in significant part, a curved surface of the apparatus for enabling solar energy to be collected over an expanded temporal interval. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring abstracts, and is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope and meaning of the claims.05-13-2010

20100142701EFFICIENT FULL OR PARTIAL DUPLICATE FORK DETECTION AND ARCHIVING - A method to efficiently detect, store, modify, and recreate fully or partially duplicate file forks is described. During archive creation or modification, sets of fully or partially duplicate forks are detected and a reduced number of transformed forks or fork segments are stored. During archive expansion, one or more forks are recreated from each full or partial copy.06-10-2010
20110044177SYSTEM FOR ECO-FRIENDLY MANAGEMENT OF CONNECTED DEVICES - A system and method for a connected wireless device to hand off from one network to another based on empirical data gathered from real live networks regarding the grade of service available on the network. The invention uses this information in combination with the user's choice of a preferred type of network connection to intelligently manage and conserve device battery life.02-24-2011
20110069833EFFICIENT NEAR-DUPLICATE DATA IDENTIFICATION AND ORDERING VIA ATTRIBUTE WEIGHTING AND LEARNING - A method to efficiently detect, and thus store, approximately duplicate or most likely duplicate files or data sets that will benefit from differencing technology rather than standard compression technology. During archive creation or modification, sets of most likely files are detected and a reduced number of transformed file segments are stored in whole. During archive expansion, one or more files are recreated from each full or partial copy.03-24-2011
20110202503BLOCK-BASED DIFFERENCING ALGORITHM - A system and method for a block based differencing algorithm which includes the ability to limit memory requirements regardless of source file sizes by splitting the source file into optimally sized blocks. The invention allows the blocks to be processed in any order allowing in-place operation. Further, the present invention allows a second stage compressor to match the compressor blocks to those used by the differencing algorithm to optimize compressor and decompressor performance.08-18-2011
20110258163DYNAMICALLY CREATED TWO-STAGE SELF EXTRACTING ARCHIVES - A method of dynamically creating a two-stage self-extracting archives. During the archive creation process the executable code segments for inverse algorithms are selectively added to the self-extracting archive, but only for those algorithms applied during archive creation. This results in a considerably smaller size of the self-extracting archive. Additional space savings can be achieved by reprocessing the original data to eliminate the use of any algorithm applied in the archive creation which resulted in less savings than the additional size of the corresponding inverse algorithm. The selected inverse algorithms are themselves compressed. A compact inverse algorithm is provided as ready-to-execute code, which restores the selected inverse algorithms to an executable state, and then causes them to be executed on the compressed file data.10-20-2011
20110295820BLOCK-BASED DIFFERENCING ALGORITHM - A system and method for a block based differencing algorithm which includes the ability to limit memory requirements regardless of source file sizes by splitting the source file into optimally sized blocks. The invention allows the blocks to be processed in any order allowing in-place operation. Further, the present invention allows a second stage compressor to match the compressor blocks to those used by the differencing algorithm to optimize compressor and decompressor performance.12-01-2011

20090208493Compounds and methods for the selective inhibition of ABCB1, ABCC1 and ABCG2 transporters and the treatment of cancers, especially drug resistant cancers and high throughput flow cytometry assay to detect selective inhibitors - Compounds disclosed which inhibit ABCB1 transporter protein are useful for treating diseases in which ABCB1 transporter protein mediates the disease state, including numerous cancers, including hematopoietic cancers, including various leukemias, especially T-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia, as well as cancerous tumors, especially forms which exhibit multiple drug resistance. Pharmaceutical compositions which comprise an inhibitor of ABCB1 transporter protein and at least one additional anticancer agent, optionally in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, additive or excipient are another aspect of the present invention. A flow cytometry based, high-throughput screening (HST) assay that quantifies ABCB1 efflux is also disclosed. Methods of identifying inhibitors of ABCB1, ABCG2 and ABCC1 transporter proteins are also disclosed.08-20-2009

20110173924Energy Absorptive/Moisture Resistive Underlayment Formed Using Recycled Materials and a Hard Flooring System Incorporating the Same - A recycled energy absorptive/moisture resistive underlayment includes a recycled energy absorbing layer comprised of either a nonwoven fiber batt formed from shoddy fibers or a foam pad formed from bonded foam. To protect the recycled energy absorbing layer from moisture, a moisture barrier is laminated on either one or preferably both side surfaces of the recycled energy absorbing layer. The moisture barrier laminated on a lower side surface of the recycled energy absorbing layer has a projecting flap which projects from first and second edge surfaces of the recycled energy absorbing layer to which the moisture barrier is laminated to the lower side surface thereof. The projecting flap enhances protection of the recycled energy absorbing layer from moisture by preventing moisture from migrating through seams and/or other exposed portions of the recycled energy absorbing layer.07-21-2011

20100285298ANTI-MICROBIAL CARPET UNDERLAY AND METHOD OF MAKING - A method for making antimicrobial rebonded carpet pad includes mixing zinc pyrithione with a polyol to form an antimicrobial polyol mixture concentrate, blending the antimicrobial polyol mixture concentrate with a binder stream, mixing the binder with foam particles and curing the binder. The percentage of zinc pyrithione mixed with the polyol and the addition ratio of the antimicrobial polyol mixture concentrate with the binder stream are selected to provide an overall concentration of zinc pyrithione in the binder of at least about 7500 ppm. The particles and binder are cured into a block and sliced to form carpet pad.11-11-2010

20110314626Sponge Replacement and Reminder System and Method - A method and system for identifying when a cleaning article, such as a sponge, should be replaced or disposed within a period of time is disclosed. A cleaning article such as a sponge is labeled with a time increment that will act as an expiration date or reminder for the user. The time increment may be in month increments that can be abbreviated or spelled. At the end of the time increment, the user will be reminded that he has used the sponge longer than the time increment by seeing the time increment on the sponge. The sponge will be replaced with a sponge having a new time increment.12-29-2011
