20100300162Remote control cam locking system - A remote control locking system employs a remote transmitter which sends a signal to a message control module/signal receiver. This signal is ultimately forwarded to a cam control unit which positions a cam member to lock and unlock a door, using an internal latching system. The cam control unit has a motor which, through appropriate gear mechanism, rotates a drive shaft to control the position of the cam member for locking and unlocking the door. The message control module/receiver, cam control unit, and attendant components can be self-contained units, each unit configured for use on individual cam controlled doors. The system can be installed as original equipment on vehicles, but also is readily adaptable to retrofitting existing vehicles which do not have remote locking capability. The system is most beneficially provided for use on trucks and similar work vehicles with multiple compartments and their respective doors, which need to be locked and locked quickly to protect property within the compartments.12-02-2010

20110054703HEAT EXCHANGE NETWORK HEAT RECOVERY OPTIMIZATION IN A PROCESS PLANT - A method and system for maximizing heat recovery in a heat exchange network includes collecting on-line process data from a network of heat exchangers having multiple parallel paths. The on-line process data is generated from cool process stream outlet temperatures of the paths. Stream flow rate target values are developed based on the on-line process data and include intended flow rates through each heat exchanger to equalize each of the cool process stream outlet temperatures. One or more cool stream flow control valves of the heat exchanger network and one or more process stream flow control valves of the heat exchanger network are controlled based on the flow rate target values to effect equalization of the cool process stream outlet temperatures.03-03-2011

20080226486Manufacturing of Controlled Porosity Metallic Tools - A process for making a metal tool having controlled porosity is disclosed. The process includes the step of preparing metal powder by gas atomization. The metal powder is filled into a metal container. The powder-filled container is placed in a metal vessel and surrounded with glass frit. The metal vessel is then heated to a temperature sufficient to melt the glass frit. The metal vessel is then compacted under sufficient pressure to partially consolidate the metal powder so as to retain porosity therein in an amount sufficient to permit air to vent through the metal tool.09-18-2008

20090257555X-Ray Inspection Trailer - An inspection system, and inspection methods, based upon an imaging enclosure characterized by an enclosing body. A source of penetrating radiation and a detector module are concealed entirely within the body of a conveyance such as a trailer. A characterizing value or an image is formed with respect to an inspected object that is disposed entirely outside the conveyance and the characterizing value or image is made available to a remotely disposed operator. Additional detectors may be disposed distally to the inspected object and may detect transmitted, or forward-scattered, penetrating radiation.10-15-2009

20090210562PROCESSING COMMUNICATION DATA IN A SHIPS PASSING CONDITION - Articles of manufacture, apparatuses, and methods for processing communications between a control unit and a channel subsystem in an input/output processing system are disclosed. Embodiments of the invention include an article of manufacture including at least one computer usable medium having computer readable program code logic to processing communications between a control unit and a channel subsystem in an input/output processing system. The computer readable program code logic performs a method including: sending a message in a first mode from the control unit to the channel subsystem; receiving a command in a second mode from the channel subsystem at the control unit; determining whether the command is responsive to the message; and responsive to the command being not responsive to the message, determining whether to perform one of i) executing the command and ii) terminating the command.08-20-2009

20100116856Modular infant carrier apparatus and method - The invention relates to a modular infant carrier apparatus and method. In one embodiment, a sling comprising a tail portion and two arm portions supports an infant when rings at the ends of the tail portion and arm portions are brought together at a single point above the infant. The rings are held together by a clamp, and the clamp allows the sling to be attached to space-saving receivers including a wall-mounted hook, a ceiling-mounted hook, a door-mounted hook, a hook attached to a heavy item of furniture, a stand-mounted hook, an over-door hook, or an item of clothing worn by an adult. In one embodiment, the sling can be moved from one receiver to another using a single hand, without removing the infant from the sling. Other embodiments are described and shown.05-13-2010
