20090196983METHOD TO ACCELERATE WETTING OF AN ION EXCHANGE MEMBRANE IN A SEMI-FUEL CELL - A new treatment method for ion exchange membranes used in semi-fuel cells that accelerates the wetting of the membranes by aqueous electrolyte solutions, thus reducing the start up time for metal/hydrogen peroxide-based semi-fuel cells. Specifically, a NafionĀ® membrane that is intended for dry storage in a semi-fuel cell is treated with glycerin (glycerol) to enhance its rate of absorption of electrolyte solution when the semi-fuel cell is activated.08-06-2009
20090266716Method of fabricating a bipolar electrode for use in a semi fuel cell - A bipolar electrode fabricated with a combination of materials that will physically separate the catholyte from the metal anode of the electrode while providing high electrical conductivity between the metal anode and the catalyst cathode. This is accomplished by layering the catalyst cathode over a composite of conductive adhesive and conductive foil that is then affixed to the metal anode.10-29-2009
20110065010Fuel Reformer Integration With Carbon Dioxide Scrubbers - The invention as disclosed is the integration of a fuel reformer reactor and a carbon dioxide scrubbing reactor for use in high temperature fuel cells. The reformer is placed in series with and between two carbon dioxide scrubbers. Fuel gas from the fuel cell is passed through a first carbon dioxide scrubber where the fuel gas is heated, has carbon dioxide gas removed there from, and is passed to the reformer. The gas exiting the reformer is scrubbed and heated by the second carbon dioxide scrubber before the gas is supplied to the fuel cell.03-17-2011

20100097318METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR OPERATING A PORTABLE DEVICE BASED ON AN ACCELEROMETER - Methods and apparatuses for operating a portable device based on an accelerometer are described. According to one embodiment of the invention, an accelerometer attached to a portable device detects a movement of the portable device. In response, a machine executable code is executed within the portable device to perform one or more predetermined user configurable operations. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.04-22-2010
20100188331METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR OPERATING A PORTABLE DEVICE BASED ON AN ACCELEROMETER - Methods and apparatuses for operating a portable device based on an accelerometer are described. According to one embodiment of the invention, a movement of a portable device is detected using an accelerometer attached to the portable device. An orientation of the portable device after the movement is determined based on movement data provided by the accelerometer. It is determined whether the portable device is held by a user after the movement based on the movement data provided by the accelerometer. Locations of the hands of the user for holding the portable device are determined based on the orientation of the portable device. At least one interface that is not within the predicted locations of the hands of the user is activated.07-29-2010
20100191356METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR OPERATING A PORTABLE DEVICE BASED ON AN ACCELEROMETER - Methods and apparatuses for operating a portable device based on an accelerometer are described. According to one embodiment of the invention, it is determined whether a portable device is moving using an accelerometer. It is determined a moving pattern of the portable device based on movement data provided by the accelerometer. A media content is selected based on the moving pattern of the portable device. The selected media content is played via the portable device. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.07-29-2010

20100122880SURFACE CONFIGURATIONS FOR DAMPING INSERTS - One embodiment of a product includes an insert for disposition in or on a component. The insert may have at least one contact surface that can experience relative frictional movement against an adjacent interior surface of the component. The at least one contact surface of the insert may comprise a nominal plane and surface features arranged in a nonstochastic pattern. The insert may also be constructed and arranged for disposition in or on the component to dampen sound when the component is vibrated.05-20-2010

20100148938DIRECT WIRELESS POLLING OF MODEL TRAINS - A method and apparatus for designating a particular model vehicle for a command function without punching in the ID of the model vehicle. A remote control device is positioned near one of the model vehicles. A limited field transmission occurs between the model vehicle and the remote control device. The device may be a train engine transmitting its train ID periodically via an infrared (IR) transmission. The remote near the train automatically receives the IR transmission of the train ID, so that the next press of a command button will automatically go to that train ID without needing to punch in the ID number.06-17-2010

20100023444System and method for managing and trading auction limit orders in a hybrid auction market - A buy order is received with a limit price that is above a published best offer, and represented in the auction market. If the buy order is not immediately executed, it is quoted at a minimum variation better than a published best bid, and the price of the quoted buy order becomes the published best bid. Alternatively, a sell order is received with a limit price that is below a published best bid, and represented in the auction market. If the sell order is not immediately executed, it is quoted at a minimum variation better than a published best offer, and the price of the quoted sell order becomes the published best offer.01-28-2010
