20110276490SECURITY SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENTS WITH PUBLICLY VERIFIABLE PROOFS OF COMPLIANCE - Techniques are described herein that are capable of providing security guarantees in security service level agreements (SLAB). For instance, a security SLA may specify a level of service to be provided to a user with respect to at least one security property (e.g., confidentiality, integrity, write-serialization, read freshness, etc.). Attestations may be used to prove occurrence (or non-occurrence) of violations of security properties in a manner that is universally verifiable, e.g., by third parties. An attestation is an indicator that is generated by a user to certify that the user makes a request (e.g., get request or put request) or an indicator that is generated by a cloud service provider to certify that the cloud service provider accurately fulfills a request of a user. A security SLA may specify a payment to be made to a user in response to an occurrence of a violation of a security property.11-10-2011

20110302449COLLECTION ORDERING FOR REPLICATED STATE MACHINES - A replicated state machine with N replica servers may be configured to tolerate a count of F faults. A first operation (of a first ordering type) executes when a first quorum of correctly functioning replicas is available. A second operation (also of the first operation type) executes when a second quorum of correctly functioning replicas is available. A third operation (of a second ordering type) executes when a third quorum of correctly functioning replicas are available. The operations are executed by the replicated state machine such that: (1) the replicated state machine does not guarantee operational ordering between the first operation and the second operation; (2) the replicated state machine guarantees ordering between the first operation and the third operation; and (3) the replicated state machine guarantees ordering between the second operation and the third operation.12-08-2011

20110240057DENTAL FLOSS - A dental floss apparatus for cleaning the gaps between adjacent teeth which is comprised of a pair of handles that are configured for engagement with the fingers with strands of flossing substrate extending therebetween. The flossing substrates are spaced from each other, running substantially parallel and extending within an opening formed between the ends of the handles, with tension maintained by the user through employment of the handles. A dissolvable substrate is positioned within this opening through an engagement with one or both of the handles or the flossing substrate, and upon contact with the surface of the teeth, dissolves, and deposits a residue on the surface of the teeth and the surrounding area of the mouth. The dissolvable substrate may be formed of two substrate pieces with a central gap between them defining a means for targeting insertion of the substrate between adjacent teeth and may be colorized or fluorescent, and have an additive material such as mouthwash, breath freshener, cooling agent, or flavor.10-06-2011
20110265811Dental Floss - A dental floss device for cleaning the gaps between adjacent teeth. The device features a pair of handles configured for an engagement with the fingers and having strands of flossing substrate extending therebetween. The flossing substrates running substantially parallel in a spaced configuration extend within an opening formed between the ends of the handles when tensioned by the user. A dissolvable substrate positioned within the opening upon moisture contact, dissolves to deposit a residue on the surface of the teeth and the surrounding area of the mouth. Enhancement of the frictional engagement between the user's fingers and the handles during a tensioning of the floss for use, is provided by an elongated slot enabling a splayed engagement between the surface of the fingers and the flexible handles, or a friction enhancing adherent positioned upon the handle surfaces.11-03-2011

20120109898Utilizing Metadata to Optimize Efficiency for Archiving Emails - A method, a computer program product and a system are provided for archiving emails, where the email system includes at least one user mailbox configured to receive and store emails within the user mailbox and send emails from the user mailbox. User-specific metadata corresponding with emails received and sent by each user mailbox is collected. The collected user-specific metadata is analyzed to provide a predictive indication when and which emails will be archived for each user mailbox, and emails are archived for user mailboxes based upon the predictive indication for each user mailbox.05-03-2012

20110078183VALUE HELP SEARCH SYSTEM AND METHOD - A computer-implemented system and method for implementing a value help search that includes receiving a value help search criteria from a user and sending the value help requests to multiple backend systems using a server computer system in a service oriented architecture system. Sending the value help search criteria may include a specific search help name to one of the multiple backend systems. The value help search service receives both metadata and result data from said one of the multiple backend systems. The metadata describes the structure of a search results. The value help search service may generate a search result table from the result data received from the backend system.03-31-2011
20110078569VALUE HELP USER INTERFACE SYSTEM AND METHOD - A computer-implemented method providing value help user interface for an underlying application where a request for field names associated with at least one value help backend system is sent by a server. The server may receive the field names from the backend system and display the field names in a user interface and provide filter criteria for each field for the user. The user may enter the search and filter criteria and the user interface may be configured to receive the filter criteria from the user. The search request may be sent to a value help service. The value help service may prompt the back end system to run a search and in turn receive results from the back end system that includes data and metadata. The metadata may describe the format of the search results. The data may be passed according to the metadata and a search results may be generated for the user. The user may make a selection from the search results and the selected data my be delivered to an underlying application.03-31-2011
20120005594USER INTERFACE ELEMENT FOR DATA RATING AND VALIDATION - According to some embodiments, a selection of a pre-determined user interface element type from a plurality of potential types is received from a user. An input rating value to be associated with a user interface element of the selected type may be received from the designer. The user interface element may, for example, receive data content in a graphical user interface. A pre-determined condition to be associated with the user interface element may also be received from the design. A user interface element may then be created to receive data content in the graphical user interface. According to some embodiments, it may be automatically determined if data content received from a user via the user interface element satisfies the pre-determined condition. Based on the determination, the input rating value may be automatically applied to a user input rating score associated with the graphical user interface.01-05-2012

20100287555USING COMPOSITE SYSTEMS TO IMPROVE FUNCTIONALITY - Systems and methods are provided for enabling communication between a composite system providing additional functionality not contained in existing legacy systems and other existing systems using different commands, variables, protocols, methods, or instructions, when data may be located on more than one system. In an embodiment, multiple software layers are used to independently manage different aspects of an application. A business logic layer may be used in an embodiment to facilitate reading/writing operations on data that may be stored locally and/or on external systems using different commands, variables, protocols, methods, or instructions. A backend abstraction layer may be used in an embodiment in conjunction with the business logic layer to facilitate communication with the external systems. A user interface layer may be used in an embodiment to manage a user interface, a portal layer to manage a user context, and a process logic layer to manage a workflow.11-11-2010
