20110146544METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SEPARATION OF CONTAMINANTS FROM COAL - Provided is a novel method and system to separate magnetically non-susceptible impurities from coal intended for combustion, and it includes the removal of such impurities together with magnetically susceptible impurities that are collocated within the same lump of coal, prior to the combustion of the coal, by the use of the magnetic properties of the magnetically susceptible impurities. The described subject matter is based on the fact that the former impurities are normally collocated in the same lumps of coal as the latter, especially as far as pyrite and cinnabar are concerned, provided the lumps have not been liberated, in particular, they meet the requirement that at least 50% by mass of the coal lumps should be at least 2 mm in maximum dimension.06-23-2011

20080261602BACKHAUL NETWORK FOR FEMTO BASE STATIONS - Providing an inter-femto Base Station (fBS) network to facilitate low interference, low power cellular access utilizing two or more fBSs is provided herein. For example, a group of fBSs can be inter-connected by a wired and/or wireless communication network. Multiple fBSs then can link with a mobile device and coordinate cellular traffic amongst the fBS network to facilitate hand-off related communication. Additionally, cellular traffic can be forwarded from one or more fBSs to an appropriate fBS designated to carry cellular traffic for each mobile device. Furthermore, by inter-connecting multiple fBSs, multi-base station cellular-type hand-off can be supported by the fBS network, while preserving predetermined cellular interface constraints associated with such mobile devices.10-23-2008
20080299992Methods and Apparatus for Determining FEMTO Base Station Location - A system and method for determining the location of a re-deployable base station is disclosed. The disclosed system and method allow for accurate determination of the location of a re-deployable base station, such as a femto base station (FBS), using position information obtained from a mobile station (MS) that is communicating with the FBS being located. The position information can include the location of the mobile device as estimated using one or more satellite positioning systems or cellular network based positioning systems. The position information can also include data identifying pilots from base stations and/or other FBS's that the MS is receiving. A determination of the propagation loss between the MS and the FBS is used to estimate the distance between the mobile device and the FBS. The location of the FBS is determined based on the received position information and the determined distance between the MS and the FBS.12-04-2008

Spring contacts touch rings surrounding the surgical device for maintaining electrical contact with the surgical device while allowing the surgical device to rotate within the body.08-28-2008
20090105706APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SKIN TIGHTENING AND CORRECTIVE FORMING - An electrosurgical apparatus applies electrical current to skin, preferably for skin tightening procedures. A housing includes a substantially flat edge, disposable on the skin. The housing stores a plurality of electrodes which are movable through an opening defined by the edge. A vacuum is applied in the housing such that the edge seals with the skin. The electrodes pierce the skin perpendicularly and apply an RF electric current to heat primarily the subcutaneous layer. A coolant is applied to cool the outer layer of the skin.04-23-2009
20090157074Surgical Apparatus with Removable Tool Cartridge - A surgical apparatus for coagulating and cutting tissue includes a handle assembly and a tool cartridge. The tool cartridge includes electrically conductive movable tools, such as jaws and a blade, for cutting tissue. The jaws and blade each are connected to a transmission to facilitate movement. Multiple sheaths are used to encompass and protect the transmissions. Slidable grips are disposed outside of the sheaths and operatively connected to the transmissions that are disposed within the sheaths. At least one lever is supported by the handle assembly and engagable with the grips to facilitate movement of the grips, and thus, the tools.06-18-2009
