20080212486Checking of broadband network components - Systems and methods for checking broadband network components are provided in which an automated interactive system permits a field technician to check various conditions of a communication line or other broadband network components without the assistance of a support technician. While options to request assistance from a support technician are provided, the automated interactive system permits the field technician to perform various functions on a communication line without additional assistance, especially for routine tasks. The automated interactive system, therefore, removes efficiencies that may be associated with conventional approaches for checking broadband network components.09-04-2008

20080223073ACCUMULATOR WITH DEFLECTOR - A deflector for an accumulator for an air conditioning system acts as a barrier to substantially prevent incoming liquid from entering a conduit which is primarily for gas. Fluid entering the accumulator comprises gas and liquid. The deflector also assists with the separation of gas from liquid, with reduced turbulence, to decrease the likelihood of liquid becoming re-entrained within the gas. An initial contact surface of the deflector receives the incoming fluid. The initial contact surface is substantially convex, so that liquid reflecting off the surface will be travel in a direction away (or different) from the flow of incoming fluid. The initial contact surface is also angled to direct liquid reflecting off it (or flowing down it) downward and outward.09-18-2008

20090256691METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPLEMENTING DISTINCTIVE ALERTS - A method and apparatus for implementing distinctive alerts in a security alarm system for a vehicle. A plurality of distinctive alarm sounds are provided from which the user can select one that he or she prefers. The number of alarm sounds is large enough so that it is unlikely that vehicles that are in close physical proximity to each other will employ the same alarm sound. Thus, with respect to any one user, the selected alarm sound will be distinctive to that user. Accordingly, when an automobile alarm sound is heard, the user can associate the alarm with his or her vehicle. The user may also receive a text message or call to his or her cell phone or land line phone.10-15-2009

20090107600GRIP TIRE WITH ADDED PUNCTURE PROTECTION - A lightweight truck and passenger vehicle tire having an improved tread design that provides numerous biting edges for increased grip in mud, snow, loose debris, and when climbing rocks as well as providing increased protection from punctures and cuts to the tire's shoulder and upper sidewall regions.04-30-2009
20090151845PNEUMATIC TIRE - A pneumatic radial tire has a chipper in place of a traditional apex, the chipper located between a carcass main portion and turnup portion. The chipper layer may be composed of a chopped carbon fiber and aramid composite reinforced elastomeric layer. The tire sidewalls have a radial height SH and a section width SW located within a range of 0.4 to 0.44 of the sidewall radial height SH measured from the bead core. The section width SW may further be located within a range of 0.1″ to 0.3″ inches from a radially outward end of the chipper layer in a radial direction. The tread may of a dual layer construction, having a radially inward first layer formed of a relatively low rolling resistance compound and a radially outward second layer formed of a compound containing silica.06-18-2009
20110114240PNEUMATIC TIRE - A pneumatic radial tire having a circumferentially extending equatorial plane of the tire, the tire comprising a carcass, a tread radially outward of the carcass, the carcass comprising at least one carcass reinforcing ply, opposing bead portions, and opposing sidewalls, the carcass reinforcing ply having a main portion extending between the opposing bead portions and a pair of turnup portions, each turnup portion extending from one end of the main portion, each bead portion having a bead core, and a reinforcement cavity outward of each bead core, the cavity located between the main portion and one turnup portion of the at least one reinforcing ply, the tire characterized by: 05-19-2011

20090132301RANDOMIZED COMPETITIVE INSURANCE PRICING SYSTEM AND METHOD - A system and method of generating insurance risk samples and for comparing hypothetical and real insurance premiums of different insurance companies is disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more rating factors are defined and have a plurality of possible values at least partially defining an insurance risk. Values for the one or more rating factors are selected according to a predetermined distribution. The selected values are then used to generate sample risks, calculate sample premiums for the risks, and/or compare sample premiums for different types of insurance policies.05-21-2009

20090012998ELECTRONIC DATA MANAGEMENT - A method of electronically administering instructions, includes receiving a new instruction; creating new instruction metadata from the new instruction; comparing the new instruction metadata to a data set of existing instruction metadata to identify existing instructions corresponding to the new instruction; determining whether the new instruction metadata indicates that the new instruction revises an existing instruction; comparing the new instruction to any corresponding existing instructions, where the new copy instruction metadata does not indicate that the new instruction revises an existing instruction, to determine if the new instruction revises the existing instructions; initiating revision workflow where the new instruction is determined to revise an existing instruction; and storing the new instruction metadata in the data set of existing instruction metadata and the new instruction in a corresponding data set of existing instructions. A system for electronically administering hundreds of instructions per hour and a computer program for electronically administering a new instruction are also presented.01-08-2009
