20090243140ART INFUSED FILMS AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME - In certain embodiments, a process for producing clear plastic films comprises creating a high resolution digital art file having a rendering of an image, wherein the image has one or more fill areas and one or more borders composed of a series of vector lines, lines, dots, or marks representing cutting paths of various depths or heights. The image from the art file is assigned depths or heights and converted into a relief file, and subsequently engraved into a die such that the die has one or more engraved paths creating a topography mirroring that of the image in the art file or relief file. A film is then extruded with the image from the die being infused into the film as it is extruded. The resulting film includes one or more engraved paths or lines making up the image, the paths or lines having a maximum depths or heights equal to, and/or greater than one third of the thickness of the film.10-01-2009

20090091310Apparatus and Methods for Powering Remote Devices Under Dynamic Source and Load Conditions - Power provided to a remote network component is regulated. A monitoring circuit estimates a DC input voltage that is received from a central network supply. A control circuit compares the DC input voltage to a threshold DC voltage value to determine if the DC input voltage exceeds the threshold DC voltage value. A voltage conversion circuit converts the DC input voltage to a DC output voltage that is provided at an output voltage conductor and that is less than the threshold DC voltage value, if the DC input voltage exceeds the threshold DC voltage value. A bypass circuit bypass the voltage conversion circuit and transmit the DC input voltage to the output voltage conductor as the DC output voltage if the DC input voltage is less than the threshold DC voltage value.04-09-2009

An input tube directs fluid into the chamber. An ultraviolet light source is positioned to direct ultraviolet light through the window into the fluid chamber at an intensity sufficient to kill or render non-reproducible at least one species of a microorganism in the fluid while the fluid is in the chamber. An outlet tube receives fluid from the cassette and directs the fluid to a destination. The fluid is substantially uniformly exposed to the light while in the chamber. The cassette and light source are contained in a housing that prevents ultraviolet light from escaping the housing.12-23-2010

20100191656SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTERCONNECTING MEDIA SERVICES TO AN INTERFACE FOR TRANSPORT OF MEDIA ASSETS - Systems and methods are provided to integrate disparate media services and applications across an organization. The media services are connected to an interoperable media services bus by creating a connector API for each service, thereby enabling the media services to exchange messages in a standardized format related to transactions to be performed involving media assets and/or metadata associated with media assets. Media assets are advantageously transported between different media systems using a transport interface that hides details of the transport operation from the sender and recipient media services. Each media service provides its own file transport parameters defining procedures for obtaining media assets therefrom and writing media assets thereto; the transport service determines particular protocols for each transport operation based on the information provided by the sender and recipient media services.07-29-2010

20110222668Method for In-Country Live Testing of International Telephone Numbers - Worldwide In-country live telephone number testing is performed by a human tester located in a specific country using local Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) access to make outbound test calls in order to test telecommunications Quality of Service (QoS). International telephone communication has become increasingly vital in the areas of customer service, sales, and the global business cycle which have come to increasingly depend on international telephone communication. The QoS criteria tests functions including, but is not limited to: correct message; message in proper language; Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) prompts working; static; echo; cross-talk; fading in & out of conversations; speech volume; pass codes; leader pins; and the like. The results of QoS tests allow early detection of problems before those problems become serious business issues.09-15-2011

20090142828Methods and Compositions for Increasing Protein Yield from a Cell Culture - Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for increasing protein production from a cell culture. By switching the cells from a replicative to a productive state (RP switch), protein biosynthesis is extended. The productive state is a pseudo-senescent state. This pseudo-senescent state can be induced by transforming the cells with a vector expressing a cell cycle inhibitor. Expression of the cell cycle inhibitor within the cell, because it does not cause cell death, allows for cells to be maintained in culture for longer periods. The invention allows for controlled enhanced protein biosynthetic productivity of cell lines for commercial and research purposes.06-04-2009
