20090108183Device having an anti-reflection surface - Described is a device having an anti-reflection surface. The device comprises a silicon substrate with a plurality of silicon spikes formed on the substrate. A first metallic layer is formed on the silicon spikes to form the anti-reflection surface. The device further includes an aperture that extends through the substrate. A second metallic layer is formed on the substrate. The second metallic layer includes a hole that is aligned with the aperture. A spacer is attached with the silicon substrate to provide a gap between an attached sensor apparatus. Therefore, operating as a Micro-sun sensor, light entering the hole passes through the aperture to be sensed by the sensor apparatus. Additionally, light reflected by the sensor apparatus toward the first side of the silicon substrate is absorbed by the first metallic layer and silicon spikes and is thereby prevented from being reflected back toward the sensor apparatus.04-30-2009

20080320531SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THIRD-PARTY AGGREGATED VIDEO RATINGS - A computer implemented method for providing a third-party video content rating unit to a client device, is disclosed. A web browser running on the client device requests video content from an affiliate video content server. The media player running on the client device receives a data stream of the video content from the affiliate video content server, renders the video content and sends a request for the third-party video content rating unit to a third-party ad content server once the video content has been completely rendered. The third-party ad content server receives the request for the third-party video content rating unit, sends the third-party video content rating unit to the client device and streams advertising content to the third-party video content rating unit. The third party video content rating unit is configured to be rendered on top of the media player.12-25-2008
20090076916SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THIRD-PARTY AD SERVING OF INTERNET WIDGETS - A system for interactive delivery of rich media application pods, is disclosed. The system includes a web content server, a client web browser and an advertisement unit server. The web content server is configured to store a webpage having a designated location for an application pod ad unit. The application pod ad unit is configured to enable user interactions to request a rich media application pod. The client web browser is communicatively connected to the web content server and is configured to render the webpage and allow user interactions with the webpage. The advertisement unit server is communicatively connected to the client web browser and configured to receive the rich media application pod request, and dynamically process the rich media application pod to provide the requested rich media application pod.03-19-2009
20100223107SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTEGRATING XML SYNDICATION FEEDS INTO ONLINE ADVERTISEMENT - A system for providing XML syndication content to an Internet advertisement panel rendered in a web browser is disclosed. The system includes a web content server, an Internet advertisement server, and a XML syndication content feed site server. Both the web content server and the Internet advertisement servers are in communications with the web browser. The web content server is configured to respond to requests from the web browser for a web page and to deliver the web page to the web browser. The Internet advertisement server is configured to choose and deliver an Internet advertisement panel, having embedded XML syndication content, to the web browser. The XML syndication content feed site server is in communications with the Internet advertisement server and is configured to send XML syndication content updates to the Internet advertisement server.09-02-2010

20110181884OPTOFLUIDIC MICROSCOPE DEVICE WITH PHOTOSENSOR ARRAY - Embodiments of the present invention relate to techniques for improving optofluidic microscope (OFM) devices. One technique which may be used eliminates the aperture layer covering the light detector layer. Other techniques retain the aperture layer, reversing the relative position of the light source and light detector such that light passes through the aperture layer before passing through the fluid channel to the light detector. Another technique adds an optical tweezer for controlling the movement of objects moving through the fluid channel. Another technique adds an optical fiber bundle to relay light from light transmissive regions to a remote light detector. Another technique adds two electrodes at ends of the fluid channel to generate an electrical field capable of moving objects through the fluid channel while suppressing rotation. These techniques can be employed separately or in combination to improve the capabilities of OFM devices.07-28-2011

20100024572POLYMER NEMS FOR CELL PHYSIOLOGY AND MICROFABRICATED CELL POSITIONING SYSTEM FOR MICRO-BIOCALORIMETER - A microfluidic embedded nanoelectromechanical system (NEMs) force sensor provides an electrical readout. The force sensor contains a deformable member that is integrated with a strain sensor. The strain sensor converts a deformation of the deformable member into an electrical signal. A microfluidic channel encapsulates the force sensor, controls a fluidic environment around the force sensor, and improves the read out. In addition, a microfluidic embedded vacuum insulated biocalorimeter is provided. A calorimeter chamber contains a parylene membrane. Both sides of the chamber are under vacuum during measurement of a sample. A microfluidic cannel (built from parylene) is used to deliver a sample to the chamber. A thermopile, used as a thermometer is located between two layers of parylene.02-04-2010
