20090009392SHARED PHASED ARRAY CLUSTER BEAMFORMER - A shared beamformer flexibly allocates beams among clusters of beams produced by phased array antenna apertures that are deployed on a satellite (or other type of platform). By sharing the beamformer among the beam clusters, if one beam cluster is not providing useful coverage, the beams may be reallocated to one or more other beam clusters that are providing useful coverage. To share the beamformer among the beam clusters, a selector network is used to select which particular beam cluster (or clusters) is used for producing one or more narrow beams that are constrained to the coverage area of the beam cluster (or clusters).01-08-2009

20110011744Novel method to reduce void formation during trapezoidal write pole plating in perpendicular recording - A method of forming a write pole in a PMR head is disclosed that involves forming an opening in a mold forming layer. A conformal Ru seed layer is formed within the opening and on a top surface. An auxiliary layer made of CoFeNi or alloys thereof is formed as a conformal layer on the seed layer. All or part of the auxiliary layer is removed in an electroplating solution by applying a (−) current or voltage during an activation step that is controlled by activation time. Thereafter, a magnetic material is electroplated with a (+) current to fill the opening and preferably has the same CoFeNi composition as the auxiliary layer. The method avoids Ru oxidation that causes poor adhesion to CoFeNi, and elevated surfactant levels that lead to write pole impurities. Voids in the plated material are significantly reduced by forming a seed layer surface with improved wettability.01-20-2011
20110094888Rejuvenation method for ruthenium plating seed - A method of rejuvenating a Ru plating seed layer during write pole fabrication in a PMR head is disclosed that involves forming an opening in a mold forming layer. A Ru seed layer is deposited by CVD within the opening and on a top surface of the mold forming layer. The substrate with the Ru seed layer is immersed in an acidic solution and an electric potential is applied for 1 to 2 minutes such that hydrogen is generated to reduce ruthenium oxides to Ru metal on the seed layer surface in an activation step. One or more surfactants are used to improve wettability of the Ru layer. The substrate is transferred directly to an electroplating solution without drying following the activation step to minimize exposure to oxygen that could regenerate oxides on the surface of the Ru layer. As a result, write pole voids and delamination are significantly reduced.04-28-2011

20110040697REASSIGNMENT AND RECONCILIATION FOR MULTI-DIMENSIONAL SALES TERRITORIES - Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for using multi-dimensional modeling techniques to handle gaps, overlaps, and reassignments of opportunities for sales territory management. Embodiments use multi-dimensional modeling to define territories in such a way that accounts for applicable territory criteria as sets with logical boundaries, rather than as a defined rule-based architecture (e.g., as dimensions in a territory hypercube). The multi-dimensional model is de-normalized to capture the multi-dimensional nature of the sales territory definitions while, for example, flattening hierarchical trees and minimizing or eliminating the need for ordinal processing of the data. In some embodiments, the de-normalized territory definitions are used to facilitate efficient and reliable gap and/or overlap processing (e.g., detection, reconciliation, etc.). In other embodiments, the de-normalized territory definitions are used to optimize identification of territory regions where reassignment of opportunities is appropriate and/or to reassign opportunities in those regions.02-17-2011

The territory proposal is associated with a name, owner, activation trigger event, and the proposed territory model. The owner can modify the proposed territory definitions in the staging environment, and the modifications may be published to subordinates, audited for errors, etc. When the proposed territory model is as desired, the owner may request activation of the territory upon occurrence of the activation trigger event occurs. Activation may involve promotion of the proposed territory model (e.g., or the modifications) to the production environment, for example, including realignment, reconciliation, auditing, and/or any other processing.02-17-2011

In some embodiments, a set of proposed territory definitions is generated in a territory management system to represent a hierarchical set of proposed territories each as a set of cells of a hypercube. A modification is received to the proposed territory definitions, and the proposed territory definitions are updated according to the modification. A query is received (e.g., at the territory management system via a user interface) and is executed against the proposed territory definitions in the territory management system to generate a query result. The query result is output to provide analytical metrics and/or assignment preview functionality.02-17-2011
20110125668MULTI-DIMENSIONAL MODELING OF SALES TERRITORIES - Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for using multi-dimensional modeling techniques to optimize definition and management of sales territories. Embodiments use multi-dimensional modeling to define territories in such a way that accounts for applicable territory criteria as sets with logical boundaries, rather than as a defined rule-based architecture. For example, territory criteria are modeled as hierarchical dimensions that form boundaries to a territory hypercube. An individual territory may be a set of cells in the hypercube. In certain embodiments, the territory (e.g., set of cells) is formalized by an MDX query.05-26-2011
